    Woolworths gift card thread

I think he means the 'naughty' trick of tapping the eftpos card (rather than original payment method) for a refund

    Woolworths gift card thread

$6.95 on the $100. Is that an increase or am I imagining? Edit: I'm imagining-confusing with the Visas. Non-viable for me at that level

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

I stuffed up my meaning. Prices do go up while you wait. My feeling is that the illusion is that they go up because you are looking

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

Interested if anyone has success doing this. My impression is that the illusion of prices going up while you delay booking is due to a cheap fare-bucket filling in the meantime, rather than an algorithm spotting your interest

When do you receive amex points to redeem?

If you havent done so already, you should link your SQ account on the Amex website; yoy can't do this on the app. Occasionally there is a delay while this is approved (and you'll have oriented yourself to the points transfer tab). My impression is that points are available shortly after purchase...

    General Medical issues thread

I think its probably OTT but it does give an insight into food that affects blood sugar levels. High glycaemic index food (e.g sugary snacks or processed carbs like white bread) will spike more. It can therefore be used to guide a healthier diet. A colleague of mine (young, slim and fit)...

    General Medical issues thread

I'd believe you. Some health professionals who dont know you from Adam might not. My natural tendency is to trust unless the picture doesnt fit and it matters to the diagnostic/treatment process. I dont see it is my mission to demand my patients follow all public health advice to the letter...

    General Medical issues thread

I dont think writing down double happens but there is scepticism about self-reports. Last night at the dinner table, I was discussing a little feisty old lady who had fallen after 3 drinks that all and sundry were saying was an alcoholic ( I thought not). My 13 yo was sure she was lying. One...

    General Medical issues thread

I find that some of my more 'sheltered' junior doctors attribute all sorts of medical admissions as entirely due to alcohol when the actual amounts are quite modest and there is an alternative explanation. Conversely, I have seen many older people presenting with levels over 0.2 despite seeming...

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

SImilar to my thoughts though I'd probably put it towards their future home loans (and let them make tax-deductible contributions if they can then do so) Although I've been a bit of a dog with a bone on this, I may well end up affected at some point and hopefully have more years in retirement...
