That could be an issue as it wasn't possible to add QF number at that time.* The DSC wasn't the sole reason to choose the flight which is OK. I think I would still make QF SG anyway and it might have been a bit of a stretch to make QF WP anyway. I'll probably look to get a formal clarification...

I have a trip to Europe next year predominantly on (and ticketed by) WY but the SYD-BKL and MNL-BNE legs have QF flight numbers I bought during the DSC promo and don't see a reason in the T&Cs why they wouldnt count. Am I correct? (I'm assuming the QF legs don't later acquire WY codeshare numbers)

No idea on the big picture but discovering you can get 5 QF/$ at Bunnings via giftcards on QF marketplace (3 bonus + 2 for QF spend with the right card) on top of the 2.5 VA/$ via Flybuys with a Onepass has been helpful for my points accumulation.
