I had the chicken rice today too. I believe they had three sauces to dish out at the counter: chilli oil, chilli sauce and ginger oil.. I added fried onions and soy sauce from the bar. I call it an acceptable take on chicken rice. The chicken is not served room temp as it would in Singapore...

Seen this in MEL, BNE and CBR, generally weekend off peak times. I assume it happens semi regularly in SYD as well but less obvious to me as you don't need to walk past the QP to get to or from the J lounge.

QF can, but not always, does better when it's a proper wide body aircraft. I assume the galley space is limited on the 737 and isn't really suited to plating together a meal from several different boxes that QF tries to do on long haul flights. They might be better off doing the trans-tasman...
