I can't say how VA will handle it, but my experience with other airlines is that such changes are generally not permitted.

J class international award fares are by far the best conversion rate. AUH to LHR return in J is 80k points versus ~$3.7k. Works out around $22 a point.

One-way it's no problem. For return fares you generally will be prevented from using the return leg if the outward leg wasn't completed, AFAIK.

Mine came through some time in the past week or so. I actually hit HH Gold on my own while waiting, so they seem to have bumped me to Diamond. Noice.

Howdy, AA emailed back this morning, stating that the card was shipped out on 29th of August (I hit Platinum back on July 31st so about a four week lag) and that delivery takes "a minimum of five weeks". Sounds like a long time... but I will let you know once it finally arrives. :)

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but the Gold desk appears to operate outside the normal Velocity call centre hours. I was able to call and speak to someone on the Goldie's line at 8am on Sunday morning.
