    Strategy to obtain US Amex

After the 12 month mark, you can get a full refund of the second AF up to 30 days after it has posted. And if you downgrade/upgrade, you get a pro rata refund of the AF at any point in the year. You will then get a pro rata charge of the new card's AF (if any).

Newbie flight advice Brisbane to London after Christmas..Thanks!

Emirates A380 would be my pick, if you can get premium economy on all legs — they don't have it on all their A380s. I'd avoid Qantas if you want the lowest cabin pressure the whole way, because you'll be on an A330 or B737 between Brisbane and Perth.

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Hasn't helped at MEL First check-in before. They have told me policy must be wrong (lol) and it can't be done.

Transfer your reward points by 30 June 2025 to win 2 Business Class flights

I got the offer, but my partner did not — we've both transferred Amex MR to Qantas before.

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Call back during HBA hours and hope you get an Australian agent. If not, ask the Fiji agent to check with their team coach about how to do it — it is possible.

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Flights to and from North America in J around September school holidays released without issue. The overseas agents continue to struggle with adding connecting domestic flights, mistakenly thinking there must be classic award availability to add them.

Velocity Quandary stay or move on

If you're usually flying J (you mention domestic, but what about international?), I wouldn't worry much about status. You get most of the perks of status with your J ticket. The only thing you're missing out on is oneworld first lounges, but it sounds like your priority is on board product...

Are the days of Points collecting over?

One possible way to think about the subject is that nothing beats sign-up bonuses in terms of bang for your buck (points per dollar spent & the cost of each point), effort (no battling with cashiers at WW/Coles) & time (few people can generate, say, 100,000 points in a shorter space of time)...

Are the days of Points collecting over?

You're literally repeating what I said on page 1 of this thread. What I'm saying is that you pointing to the fact that you earn 1.5pt/dollar and pay 1c/pt is proving the OP's point, not refuting it.

Are the days of Points collecting over?

If you're earning 1.5pt per dollar and paying 1c/pt with your Amex, you need to spend $240,000 on your card to fly 2 people to Europe return in J. And that costs you $2,400. And then contend with Qatar award availability, which is good but not brilliant. And then add on taxes. And then hope...

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Back on topic, I would have thought the best option for Qantas and customers would be to have any seat that could be released to a WP simply be available to book once logged in as a WP. Why make customers go through the hassle of requesting release? If at a particular moment in time revenue...

Are the days of Points collecting over?

The rise in surcharges has moved many award tickets from being 'close to free' to being 'a small to medium discount on paid tickets'.

Are the days of Points collecting over?

Programs are going in the opposite direction — more points for on the ground spending — and that is only going to accelerate. Anyone hoping for a return to the good ol' days will be sorely disappointed. The game evolves — either you move with it or get left behind. If all one does is the same...
