Qantas off shoring FF loyalty call centre

Even more reason not to move it. You have to realize, at it's core, it's essence, a FF (or any rewards) program is a two-way relationship between a service provider and a customer; service being an operative word and, in the particular case of a rewards program, what are by definition return...

I've always found they show up within 1-2 days, I think as soon as the order is processed.

QF AMEX Ultimate Card - 100k bonus

Thought it was end of February but that's the Westpac offer. I need to add expiry dates of offers to my running spreadsheet!!

QF AMEX Ultimate Card - 100k bonus

Damn, just readying myself to apply and looks like the offer has been dropped to 50,000 points.....

I have the opposite of this 'Oenophobia' and need help!

Yep, much of the wine bought in recent years is white, rose, bubbles, lighter style reds for immediate consumption - my better half is not much of a fan of the full-bodied reds in the cellar, though that doesn't stop me buying more for long-term cellaring! So problem is a lot of the 10-20 year...

I'm concerned that many of my wines are over the hill, can appreciate your anxiety! I presume you've got plenty reaching or going past their prime?

    Qantas Wine latest offering

Yep, noticed that too. Should be a good Pinot Gris too. Off to QLD for a week, so will order some next week so it arrives when we're back, hopefully it won't be sold out.

I have the opposite of this 'Oenophobia' and need help!

Can't believe I only just noticed this thread! Very interesting and entertaining read... Reminds me of a discussion I had with SWMBO last year when she asked why I still buy wine when the cellar is 'so full'. Once I explained that the 800 odd bottles (I know, a mere drop in the ocean here) would...

    HSBC Platinum 60,000 $199 fee

Interesting - just checked my HSBC CC online and the 2 months since meeting the spend requirement was 2nd January but the online account shows 0 Qantas points - the 60,000 pints are awol!.....time for a stroppy call I think....

Alternative Bris - Melb earn double points, extra status and cheaper fare

I discovered the same thing but in reverse last year when I flew up to 'Brisbane' to join my partner in Sanctuary Cove. She'd booked MEL-BNE via her work but since I was flying separately, the MEL-SYD-OOL return journey was a winner - I ended up with exactly 700 SCs that year to get my first...

Flying cheap / in higher classes - sounds like too much work.

Amen to that! My SWMBO used to think I was a little mad until upgrades to J on all legs MEL-LHR return last year.... Now when I say things like 'just popping down to Dan Murphy's' and she'll tell me to check if there's any bonus points specials on epiQure first! :D

Why QF points are worthless (multicity booking rant)

100% agree. When one's source is Oz and one's destination is EU, and the option of a layover enroute is a goer, (IMHO) one of the best stopovers for a day or 3 is HKG. Been to Singapore once, have no desire to ever go again but HKG is just such a fascinating place, and tons of great restaurants...

50% more status credits - offer valid for bookings made in next 7 days

I wonder how random these offers are - I presume there's some sort of targeting with whom receives the offer? Any theories?

Qantas to maybe axe Melbourne-London A380 Flights

Yes, yes, yes!!! We'd be ecstatic! I can only imagine the large numbers of MEL and SYD passengers using QF1 and QF9 to get to continental Europe. If one ran Qantas and, heaven forbid, wanted to cater for as many passengers' needs as possible with limited resources, why have two daily A380...

Qantas to maybe axe Melbourne-London A380 Flights

Ditto for sure. We'd be very dissapointed to say the least. The MEL-LHR QF metal 380 route is the main reason we're sticking with Qantas. If Qantas drops it, we'll be spending a lot more time on other carriers. Also, IMO, Qantas divesting the QF metal route between such an important Australian...

Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate Partner (PS) and I (SG) upgraded Y+ to J on QF9 MEL-LHR the other day, 3/3 now for upgrades. Hopefully we'll get upgraded on the return....

Changes to QF Loyalty Bonus (now includes status credits)

100% - I'm likely to hit my status anniversary on 570 SC and about 500,000 points without this change, so 50 SCs is a no-brainer for me to keep SG without having to do a status run....

Y flex instead of Y saver for MEL-HKG-SAP-MEL worth it?

This question is along the lines of what would you do? We’re looking at booking a Jan 2017 MEL-HKG-SAP-MEL(via NRT) trip and am in two minds whether to book Y saver or Y flex? It would be around $1430 each saver, $2040 each flex, with respective SC of 90 and 150. Will be applying for upgrade to...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Re: One world Round The World Business booking using Qantas points. Good work! Is the New York - Hong Kong flight the direct Cathay Pacific 16 hour flight? We're looking into RTW business with Qantas next November using points with something like MEL-DUS (or MUN)-JFK-HKG-MEL. I'm guessing we'd...
