With all the recent changes to our beloved QFF program and it's associated 'enhancements' over the past couple of years, I'd be interested to hear what benefits/improvements/reinstatements of former benefits etc. my fellow AFF'ers want most. I thought it would be good to have a single thread that we could all collectively gather our ideas & suggestions for improvement and who knows, maybe Red Roo and co. might see something that's achievable??? With the recent lunch they hosted for AFF members, it's clear that they do listen and seem genuinely interested in the ideas of the AFF collective. You never know - they might like one of our ideas... It's worth dreaming anyway :)

What I'd like to see (as a WP): -
1) A small number (say, 4 or so each year) of single-use lounge passes for WP's to use when you are travelling with family/friends of non-status.
2) 1 (or several :p ) free upgrade per year
3) Family pooling (SC's)

*Mods, I did a thread search to see if a similar thread exists but couldn't see any. Please merge if there is one I missed - Ta*

1a) Ability to buy points more easily
or
1b) More reasonably priced points + pay options

2) Family pooling of SCs

3) Points upgrades on Classic awards

4) Ability to shamelessly rort the system and thereby attain a status not commensurate with my true station in life

I wish for ....

1) A Simpler, Fairer QFF program.
2) Less spin, more honesty

Just # 2 would satisfy me.

1. Family pooling of SC's,

2. Actual free flights with points redemption's. None of this 60,000 points + $300 in taxes stuff...

3. Classic awards earn SC's, since points are just simply another way of paying for flights.

The ability to purchase points more than once a year would be top of my list at the moment. Family pooling of SC's comes next, followed by the Classic Awards earn SC.

Admission that the QFF is actually a financial service and that the bean counters running QF are in a orgy of excitement that their QFF baby is now the most profitable part of running an airline, followed by the introduction of an *actual* frequent flyer programme.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

I was going to put that in, but I could imagine the AFF out roar over some ppl here no longer able to pay ATO bills via CC to earn points.

I quite like the idea that points are earnt by the value of the $ being spent, as sometimes you do get the occasional discount J fare thats cheaper than a Full Y fare, so that would sort that issue out.
The problem however is a traveler who is pays for a single F Fare SYD to LHR, is not actually a more frequent flyer than someone doing the SYD-MEL Commute week in week out on Discount Y fares.. so a minimum pt earn guarantee could sort that out too.

Agree with this as well... In fact I would call the single F SYD-LHR flyer not a frequent flyer at all. Prob is that in terms of actual $$$ spend, the single F SYD-LHR is going to spend more than the weekly SYD-MEL flyer on a discount Y. As far as the airline is concerned, that single F fare is worth more than the weekly flyer.

Yep, the irony being the traveller on the F fare is not actually gaining anything from having a higher status..

Ok so what they need is a FF programme that combines the $ value spent and the number of actual segments flown. Perhaps one can be a multiplier of the other to determine overall status?

IMHO family pooling of SCs is a way of getting cheap status rather than one person earning it. Given the removal of MASAs etc because people were using them to attain status way too cheaply then I cannot see family pooling being introduced.

I know this is a wishlist so sorry to introduce a little pragmatism. ;)

Base the entire status system on $ spent on the airline, irrespective of points earner in any way shape or form. You can even ignore the number of segments flown.

Then it's not a frequent flyer program, but Qantas Loyalty.

Simple and fair.

1) Copy the CX policy of releasing unsold seats at the last minute for award redemptions.
2) Link with a hotel programme like VA/Hilton
3) Confirmed international upgrades for WP

The pre-May 2005 QFF program was not that bad compared to the current regime. Let's go back to that.

That's not "Qantas Loyalty", that's "Qantas Wallet".

What's the difference?

Please don't get me wrong I am not trying to be smart, but for an airline that's on the ropes, what's the down side to going down that path?

If you piss off your customers, you won't have any.

I would just like to be able to redeem points for at least two QFi J/F classic award seats without having to:
  1. Book 11 months in advance;
  2. Fly out of my way;
  3. Put up with poor connections;
  4. Pay half the cost of a Y seat all for the privilege of using appreciably more FF points in the process.
Otherwise, my QF points will keep ending up at QStore and my current 20 or so bookings will continue on SQ, VA, EY and CX.
