Qantas A380 reliability issues creeping up again?

The Australian online reporting that a workers light was left in the wing of an A380 and it made a return trip to LAX. Three points of possible detection for the light being left there apparently were missed.

I wonder if those flights had a light payload?

Today's anticipated five and a half hour delay to QF7 departing SYD for distant DFW in the USA begs the question: why do these QFi A380 delays (presumably often for extra maintenance required at short notice) occur so often?

A380s must be complex transport equipment to maintain, probably more so as they age, but while it can't be suggested all other A380 operators have a 100 per cent punctuality record, some despite all the challenges such as SQ manage to creep fairly close to that 'perfect' benchmark.

VH-OQB must have failed in LAX, as the QF12 SYD arrival today was no more.

QF7/8 on Saturday 5 September: cancelled.

Yesterday's QF11 SYD-LAX more than two hours late arriving at gate; today's QF7 SYD-DFW delayed by more than five hours in departure.
