International Qantas Connections at Perth

QF6 is technically an international flight right? Just a thought can't they tag to Sydney and I reenter Perth as an international passenger and clear customs and quarantine in Sydney ?

There's no advantage to change to QF644 other than departing slightly earlier.

You will need to collect bag arriving at T1 and clear customers and immigration. Then transfer to T3/4 by the free transfer bus with your bag and re-check it there. T3/4 international departures is tiny and you'll be through that within minutes. Stick to QF6 (if you're determined to transit PER). You'll also get access to the international QF J lounge which is better than the domestic one.

Four hour layover is more than enough time. Only problematic if you're inbound is severely delayed. Even then, if it's all on one ticket I'd imagine you'd just land up on the next QF domestic flight to SYD but in whY.

But it requires a terminal change which cannot be done pre-customs, you must clear customs.
and about 10kms on the land side road to get from one side of the airport to the other - similar to SYD but no transfer within the perimeter.

Do you really need to fly One World (QF)?

Probably quicker and no baggage issues until at SYD flying HKG-SIN-SYD.

I mean if you must do CX the post midnight MEL and BNE flights also have W/R on 11th

I suspect this is end of school holidays

the other option which is backwards but an easy transit is to take cx113 to AKL then across to SYD? though I can't remember if that is allowed in the route map/fare rules for HKG-SYD (I suspect not)

Edit: looked at the fares rules, cannot do HKG-AKL-SYD that's backtracking! though there are options to HKG-ADL/MEL/BNE/PER/CNS-SYD

Ill have to keep an eye if the Sydney direct flight open up. Corporate travel during school holidays is always challenging.
