Park Hyatt Sydney now pretending to be a resort

The iconic Park Hyatt Sydney has apparently decided to reclassify itself as a "resort" to avoid having to give late check-out to elite members.


I really don't love this. In what universe is this hotel a resort? This is the kind of nonsense I expect Marriott to allow, but not Hyatt.
 
This hotel is notorious for doing dodgy things, so it's not surprising. The FlyerTalk thread on this hotel gives just a sample of what they do, especially to screw elites and people staying on points.
 
The prices charged these days is so high compared to 20 years ago when you could afford to splash out and stay there. Better options in Sydney for me to use over the past 10 years.

Like charging $50 for a window table during Vivid

Nah, I'd rather spend that $50 on coughtails; can still see the Opera House from where I was seated
