Now I'm fully aware, that the 'buying and selling' practice on THAT ONLINE AUCTION site was a 'no-no' ...

However, it looks like it's come to an end.

As of today, when I looked, I can only see one single offering ( which may go at any minute ? )

Previously, I have seen up to 20 offerings at any one time ....

So, was there a big crack down by QANTAS ?

Anybody got a story on this ?

Why on earth would you do that when you can buy them legally here

Similar value and you get free wine - without risking being banned.

Oh, I did / have ...
I purchased a QANTAS Wine offer a few months ago, for $535. ( I think it was ).
12 very good reds, with the top wine being a 2020 Bleasdale 'Inveniam Viam' Cab Malbec. RRP $259.
There was another with RRP of around $100., with most selling for $30. - $40.
But the real selling point was, the 25,000 bonus QFF Points.
So, for $535. I got some really nice reds, plus 26,605 QFF Points ( which I used for a J flight, SYD - ADL )

Similar? I think the value is even better than paying for them!
The last time I looked at 'that auction site', the going rate was 100,000 points for between $1,800. and $2,500.

There used to be a guy on the site, who would advertise to BUY 100,000 points for $500. He used some line, targeted to those who received their points from the AMEX offers, claiming, he was paying more than it cost the account owner for their AMEX card membership per year.

Definitely better than buying from QF

Ebay sells it at a discount - you know, being illegal and all... But even then it's like 0.1cpp difference to QF wine.

I also looked to see if there were any lounge passes on "that auction site" and there was none, previously there would be a lot, usually about $10-$20 less than Qanta$ would sell them for.
So now I am trying to get some via the facebook groups.

The lounge pass trade is basically over now you can't transfer them to people unless they're travelling on the same flight as you.

Yeah, I am aware that from July 1st, you if you are not traveling then these passes become useless.
I managed to get a pass for my travels in November from the Facebook group. however I did notice something interesting when I went to assign them for my flight. When I went to the the drop down to allocate them, the first option was to buy a pass for points or cash, which I haven't seem before, previously it would only have the passes you had as an option. So I think we can conclude that Qanta$ is looking to sell more passes in the future, I wonder if the free ones with CC will stop as well...

Different topic ....
But I fronted up to Sydney Domestic AF Club lounge, with a Jetstar BP ( LIFE QF Club Membership card ).
The woman at desk practically growled at me ... " Oh, that's Jetstar".
She just 'waved' me through .....

I know QF have kicked out Jetstar pax from their International lounge.

My bet is, Domestic Jetstar will go in next 12-24 months.
