Recently I’ve been using this new all-electric car service to MEL. They are a startup with 8 cars mainly BYD Atto 3s with more on the way. Book in advance and pay through the app or on the car. They’ve been reliable and cheaper than Uber, definitely cheaper than Uber Electric.

I pay $43 between Abbotsford and the airport, there’s often a discount on. Currently 40% off for first booking.

NB - I have no affiliation with these guys, but I do build electric vehicle charging stations, which they do use. Somewhat tangentially, I do make something out of it if these guys are successful.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks for the tip - I am dep MEL this week so I will give them a try 👍

The 1st trip discount which I can see is about 20% discount which brings them back to circa DiDi rates but I would love to support an ev operation.

Turned up 8 minutes late claiming traffic congestion in the rain - that’s possible but 3 calls went unanswered and I rcvd msg car had arrived 30 seconds before it actually did and then I rcvd return call.

See luggage above - driver opened tailgate but kept cough parked in drivers seat whilst I loaded luggage - he did ask ‘Do you need help’ to which my reply was ‘Doesn’t look like I am getting any!’

But now in transit 👍

Cruiser Elite FYI your credit card digits are still shown, might want to try again with your editing :)

So, is it a fair summary to say:
* Need to book in advance;
* About 20% cheaper than Uber, and same as Didi (under current price structures);
* A bit sloppy on the service levels.

IF you're being picked up at the airport, where do they pick you up?

Once I got talking to dude he was a really good guy - he is actually their IT Specialist rather than a ‘driver’

Thanks for the heads up. We've just booked them for a pick up when we fly into Melbourne tomorrow afternoon. $26 to go to our hotel in the city, after the $14 first go discount (normally $40 for the trip). I'll post a report afterwards.

I’ve been picked up by the CEO and the COO a few times. They are taking inspiration from an Indian outfit called BluSmartEV who have 5000 cars in a few cities across India and investment from BP. I admire their bootstrapping.
