What cheeses me off

Ive never done an online order. Are the paper bags compulsory to buy? If not just bring your own.

Just did a dummy booking. You don't have to buy them but can BYO. Sorry. Don't see the issue.
Why don't people read the whole post? @Pushka , @Lynda2475 , @Mr_Orange .

Is this much easier to understand? Ordering 3 boxes of 24 x 375mL Pepsi Max cans + 48 Strepsils to be delivered to mum and dad.

They are including 2 paper bags. These are compulsory $2 per order. So the box of 48 Strepsils needs 2 useless paper bags?

Please try to tell me this is not a rort and Woolworths is including a $1.50 paper bag surcharge on this order?

We were responding to the first part of your post which an instore experience where you chose to use free paper bags found in car park rather than bring or buy more suitable bag in store.

Wrt online shopping, if you don't like the way they bag it then suggest you complain to Woolworths directly and perhaps consider shopping in person where you can select packaging yourself.

So why can't I post in this thread about what cheeses me off? It's a blatant rort. My complaints are trivial right? Everyone else in this thread just posts serious issues right?

By the way dad is nearly 86 and mum is 80. They are in Sydney and I am in Brisbane. If there was a way I could help them then I would help. I wouldn't give Woolworths 1c more than necessary.

OK. I deleted my post as I can see you are only referencing delivery and not click and collect.

many times in this WCMO thread posts are responded to with some let me say criticism or gentle mockery at the issue. Perhaps it wasn’t as bad as it’s made up to be.

Only you then also moan about such responses and those pointing out to you that perhaps the issue isn’t there at all.

Oh I read your posts. And did my own research. On Woolies click and collect.

This is what I see Circled for your convenience. There is no rort here...just need to read the site correctly.

Because what you are posting isn't factual.
How do you byo bags on an online order (as opposed to click'n'collect) ? Genuine question

So I guess that is a genuine WCMO then? Maybe even more than the original issue. 😂

Excellent point. Which makes JohnK gripe genuine. My bad.

Why don't people read the whole post?
I amended how much of your OP that I quoted so that my response is 100% valid.

Others have responded on the second half of your OP.

Suggest we leave it there since you are correct @JohnK that this is the WCMO thread and you were clearly cheesed off.

I'm in JohnK's corner here. I get why the paper bags are expensive as it's to encourage people to bring own bags. But when it's delivery, there is no alternative so it's a de facto surcharge; maybe delivery paper bags should be at cost price

What would CMO is finding out how much they really cost and then being sold for $1 each!

This is the 'What Cheeses ME Off' Thread.

You may not think a complaint is valid, but that does not mean it isn't valid for the OP.

Please bear that in mind before denigrating a cheesee. You may find yourself getting cheesed off with an infraction.

I confounded two of his comments. One was the comment that he collected two ? Bags he found and they didn’t work for him and then he commented about the other online experience. All in the one post. That CMO.

Is it $2 regardless of how many bags? Because most would have at least four or a family up to 8. Plus. Same price?

WCMO. On a related issue. The auto merge two posts obviously doesn’t discriminate between subject matter so for instance one comment about something sad and the next one might be trivial and both appear together.

How much do they cost? 1c each or less? They're still making a huge profit at 25c each.

@Pushka the first part of my post was to highlight that the paper bags are useless. Not that I got them for free and complaining.

Anyway bags at supermarkets should be free. These are multiple billion dollar businesses trying to make a profit from selling bags. Dear oh dear.

P.S. I do not buy bags from supermarkets. We have 15-20 of the stronger bags at home that we have got for free over the years but keep forgetting to take them shopping. The things I buy from Coles/Woolworths go from supermarket trolley to my boot and then bagged at home and taken upstairs.

Actually probably the main aim - in store - is to disincentivise the use of single use bags (whether they be paper or plastic). Free bags - people would use a lot more than they need, at least at self serve checkouts.

Which is fine, except perhaps during online delivery, in which case they should be provided either much closer to at cost, or maybe it's time an algorithm was used to estimate number of bags needed based on weight and volume and people are charged for an estimate of what is needed.

Ahhh my life is sorted again, that person who did the comment I actually agreed on and cheesed me off (which worried me ) is back to usual type "me" commenting. My world is steady again :)

I can already imagine the complaints (and WCMO posts) if they were to attempt something like this. You can never please everyone. How many people go to self check-outs because they prefer to bag things their own way? I certainly don't envy the retail staff who have to face the customers every time a bag policy changes.

WCMO
Slow down to near zero kph due to ‘roadworks’ ahead
But
No bollards, high-vis humans or work of any sort being down
But
My vehicle alerts me speed cameras ahead so I do slow down whilst practically being rear ended by those who dont
