Booked SIN-MEL 11am day flight last week. Paid 180 for base fare (no addons apart from internet) 2 days out. Bid for J 170 (min was 160). Bid accepted 23 hrs out. Seat was extremely comfortable (I'm 6'2) and got plenty of work done on laptop. Would definitely try again for any day flight.

Did you ask to leave? I have done it 3 times with CX. You need to wait for a CX employee (So im not sure if your airline will have one available) to take you down the lift and then you just go backwards through security. As said it is frowned upon but possible.
