    ATMs are available and you can change money at the hotel. Resturants will accept the local currency or US $s. We had no problems when we were there last year.

    No. Will be ok. As long a s the roll-on goes under, unless it's the small carry-on size, then both should be ok.

    Depends on your insurer. Ask them. Generally basic pre-existing conditions are ok as long as you don't make a claim against the particular condition.

    Malaysia has political corruption problems. Singapore executes criminals. I have not heard people having issues with these stopovers...
