Santiago is a wonderful city to spend the day in. The Holiday Inn is functional but not the place to spend the day. Transvip do a service into town for just over USD20 and it takes around 30 mins depending on traffic. Alternatively Uber is super safe and reliable. There are great restaurants to...
I am not a fan of 3 E/F. They are the least private seats in J on the plane and have cupboards very close to them which often entails someones posterior close to your face. Upstairs exit is much better if you fly with a companion, if solo the single seats in row 5 are the best on the plane.
I was P1 from inception - launch party with John Travolta and all that. I thoroughly enjoyed the benefits, including the partner WP. Alas, I dropped down to WP due to a period of forced idleness and consequent lack of flying. I'm now back flying with the same frequency as before and I really...
I've never had one break. Wine pack's are good, but another tip is to put a running shoe at each end of the bottle and cushion the body with clothes. Bottles are really strong against compressive forces, but glancing blows to the neck or heel can do a lot of damage. Works for me.
Re: QF Singapore lounge 'enhanced'
Thanks. My recent downgrade from P1 explains the fizz situation. Something to look forward to as I claw my way back...
Arras is making some seriously good wine. They regularly do well at international shows and are ranked amongst the world's best. Some of their vintage cuvee's are spectacular
Re: QF Singapore lounge 'enhanced'
The wine on offer in the SIN lounge is very disappointing. In the early days, you could request proper champagne. I visited a few weeks ago and was told that the only available bubbles were the regular sparkly.
If I have time I use the SQ Emirates lounge where...
Been the case for a while. It was one of the perks I enjoyed as a P1 as I don't like the T-80 lottery. Interestingly, international J seating selection doesn't seem to differ whether WP or P1
Don't know if there's any left, but just picked up a Secret Deal Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 12 pack for $150. Turns out to be Kangarilla Road Reserve $40 per bottle at Cellar Door...
While I will always be a Krug fan in the air (it has the structure to work at altitude) I certainly don't complain if the palate cleanser is a less prestigious cuvee. I treat it as an opportunity to see whether the prestigious champagne is actually so much better. After all there's plenty time...
Oh well. After 5 years at P1 it ran out in September due to a period of redundancy. I'm back to flying like a loon (over 1000sc's in 2 months), but can say that while I miss getting a lovely gift I don't value it as much as my 6 months no fly period!!!
The only other real difference I notice is...
