    A380 future post-COVID-19

A vaccine will likely be developed but how effective it’ll be is a million dollar question. And let’s not even open the can of worms about safety. What I think get me outta here was saying though is that we’ve done such a good job of minimising cases through social distancing that we’re now...

QANTAS takes A380s out of circulation [and reduces flights]

Yes. I don’t expect a double double up. The original routing would net more SC’s than a new routing through DXB. If I’m routed through PER I think it’s the same. So if I end up on EK then it appears I’d apply for the ORC and also the DSC that applied to the original routing. Does that make sense?

QANTAS takes A380s out of circulation [and reduces flights]

Unfortunately with a bub my flying was going to be significantly reduced this year compared to previous (regardless of COVID-19). This would've meant requal without worry later in the year. But the trip may not go ahead anyway. If I do go I'll keep you updated on the offer from QF. So am I...

QANTAS takes A380s out of circulation [and reduces flights]

I have a similar query. I have a J class MEL-SIN-LHR-CDG return (QF37 onto QF1 and then QF2 onto QF38) in May which I booked during the DSC promotion. Pre the DSC offer my plan was to book EK (QF codeshare) MEL-DXB-CDG for obvious reasons. If they offer to move me to the EK flights instead can I...

    Racism and the Coronavirus

You are correct. No toilet paper at all. Or tissues. Or hand soap/sanitizer. Pasta and rice also running low 🙄

    Racism and the Coronavirus

I’ll have to visit that woolies. My local one and the Coles a block away have essentially no hand wash of any brand, Panadol or Neurofen. Toilet paper was still available 😏

    Racism and the Coronavirus

True. This is a well known issue particularly with patients of Islamic faith. Sometimes it just isn’t possible eg who’s working, limited staffing in rural settings etc. I’ve personally never had an issue but always offer to have a female chaperone present if they want.

    Racism and the Coronavirus

I work in the health industry And am of Asian descent so was horrified by reports coming out of the Royal Children’s (and one other public hospital) that on a few occasions families presenting to the emergency department are refusing to be treated by doctors of Asian (assuming Chinese) descent...

    General Medical issues thread

Wow you’ve really been through the wars. I’ve had patients with SF but thankfully it’s not common. I’ve only once put in a third stent but if any vessel can take it it’d be an LAD. All the best.

    General Medical issues thread

Sorry that you’re going through this. I missed the original post detailing the early parts of your presentation. This is a rare outcome but it is for this reason that I always tell my patients they need the symptom burden or the non-invasive testing to “earn” an Invasive angiogram. It’s too easy...

New route: Qantas launches Mildura - Sydney (and increases Bendigo)

Rex does MEL-MQL return and ADL-MQL-Broken Hill as a loop I do work in mildura fortnightly and agree with others that traditionally ADL wouldve been a more useful service. Perhaps that's my health service bias given how many patients have to travel to either MEL or ADL for treatment. However...

    Melbourne International new security schemozzle

I do see the other side. But by having others cutting in I think it slows things down even more. We are not on the other side to remove our items so filled trays just sit there and so empty tray aren’t getting fed back into the system. Then flagged bags can’t get checked because we’re still...

    Melbourne International new security schemozzle

With the expenditure invested I’m guessing it’ll take some time to even accept they have a problem let alone go about fixing it. Maybe some simple policing of the tray section would at least help. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Melbourne International new security schemozzle

Went though MEL on Tuesday with Mrs B and Baby B in tow. So we had quite a few items to place in bins, stroller, laptop, iPad, bags, nappybags etc. Between us probably 8 trays were needed. I appreciate it was quite the palava for those behind us but really didn’t appreciate everyone cutting in...
