Following the introduction of Sabre, is it still the case that you cannot do OLCI for the domestic leg of an international itinerary, and can only check in at the airport? It used to state this on the Virgin website, but I can't find that particular reference any more. It does say that there's no OLCI for international flights, but doesn't mention the domestic component.

Mr Jurahn is flying PER-BNE-LAX in a few days, and asked me whether he could do OLCI for the PER-BNE leg - I said I didn't think so, as when we did the same trip to the US just over 12 months ago, we had to check in at Perth airport - I assume this is because they do all the "international paperwork" checks (ESTA, where you're staying the first night, etc) at that time and also check your bags through to the final destination, so the domestic leg is actually considered part of the international flight?

Thanks!

I don't think anyone knows what's going on with VA at the moment :?: Your best bet would be to phone VA (good luck with that).

Yes, I gave them a call - the girl I spoke to asked whether it was a direct flight. Well, yes, in the sense that it's all on the one itinerary, although different flight numbers of course. She said that no, he couldn't do OLCI on an international flight, and didn't really seem to understand that I was only asking about the iinitial domestic flight, so I'm still not sure whether the question has been answered or not! Oh well, might just get Mr Jurahn to have a look to see whether he can access OLCI at T-48, and if he can't, then that would mean airport check-in only I guess!

Cannot be done as you have a international journey . They need to confirm you have all relevant passport and or visa. If you checked in PER BNE online and got to BNE and you had a passport/ visa issue they would have to send you back to Perth.

One advantage now is you will get all boarding passes for your PER BNE LAX flights
