We have lift off! Doors closed, about to pushback.

Thanks for keeping me occupied!

And thanks for the tip re drinks Awesome Andy.

Given that it's a 9-hour flight, and the delay has been 2 hours, the crew doesn't have much left up their sleeves. I would be trying to finish up as much alcohol as possible if I were you.[/QUOTE]

dont take as 'gospel' but i think cabin crew can go up to 17hrs 'unplanned' continuous duty...and after 17hrs another 'formula' comes in to play...fight crew i'm not too sure of tho

Enjoy HKG!

P.S. If nobody can get their luggage when they arrive HKG, you know why. :p

Been following progress as I'm on QF128 tonight. That's extra Flounge time I don't need.

Don't feel to bad, we were stuck in Manilla last year on a Philippines aircraft on tarmac in awful heat for 2 hours, no air and no captains message, crew new nix, all they had was tea/coffee and water (oh and tiny packets of peanuts), glad the flight was only 2 hours.

Funny thread.

Probably not but it is good to read about someone else's delays for a change. ;)

Do they need the fight crew to calm the pax down when they're advised there's no champagne left? ;)

Its almost in QLD as type this FlightAware QF127

Scheduled: 11:40 EST
Departed: 14:10 EST

Feel sorry for all the Y pax...9hrs in Y is hard enough but throw in a 2hr delay

Sickening Thud we landed about an hour ago. Not sure how long it takes to turn around but your Flounging may be almost at an end! BTW service was a disaster, no cutlery, side plates, took 2 hours to complete meal service in J. Think there was more wrong than the cargo door!

I spoke to one of the crew and she said they can do 18 hours but the issue was with the technical crew who were more at risk of fatigue...

I am glad they managed to get the flight underway...much better than offloading!

Loved this thread - on plane reporting and in-lounge reporting.

Pleased the duct tape worked and PrincessK got to HKG safely.

How is the ear?

Hi docjames, the ear was basically pain free for landing, only a bit of pain after getting off the plane as it popped a few times. I think Markis10 might just have saved me with the recommendation of Ear Planes.
