Status Acknowledgement

Hi All,

Can anyone confirm if my Platinum status will be acknowledged during my impending flights onboard Virgin America? If so, what or if any benefits will be afforded to me? Extra luggage?

No. Virgin America doesn't recognize status. If you want Virgin Australia status recognized, fly Delta.

You will earn status credits on Virgin America though.

Virgin Australia's highest level is Platinum and you don't list VA/DJ in your profile.

VA has just bought out a P1 equivalent it it's his Hilton Card

My apologies, I meant Platinum. For one reason or another, I had HHilton Diamond on my mind.

DL only recognise Lounge access. You get no additional benefits with DL. No Baggage. No priority boarding. No priority check-in. No priority security screening.

You do of course earn SC's on DL as well though. (VX don't really have a lounge network either, so no lounges unless you're in SFO and want to pay, and then it's a 10-15 minute walk to the terminal where the VS Clubhouse is).

Remember, this is VX's program. There has been no announcement about reciprocal levels between them yet. I'm sure it'll come, but VX's isn't launching until next month either.

Rather than start a new thread I have a query on status acknowledgement on VA from entry level to silver.

How long does it take for VA to recognise & update your Velocity status to silver once you have completed the qualifying flights & got the 250 status credits?

Once the SCs have posted, it should update overnight. They do a sweep each night and it should get picked up in that automatically. This generally means the status is upgraded 3 days after the flight that qualifies you, as flights normally takes 2 days to post (unless it is a partner flight that may take longer).
