Well we all know as premium flyers we like to board first.
All the feelgood I am important ,I paid my dues (or my company did ) etc.
Frankly I would sit in the lounge and board last ,if ony for the fact you dont have a prayer of getting your briefcase and case into the overhead lockers.
I always laugh on the Monday redeye OLL-Syd
Its like a subtle but fiersome race.
One guy ,a regular pretends to read his ipad, slinks ever closer to the head of the line and just cuts in,then his mate another regular follows suit.
The other fight is who can book row 3 first for the online seating allocation.
Now....re row three often a very good rommy row ,but this guy is a mere gold member.
I am platinum I feel something is amiss here.

What a question. What a spell checker!

We'll get the "... plane won't leave without you, so why bother, I've never understood it" arguments.
We'll get the "... if I want locker space, I'll get to the gate early" arguments.
We'll get the "... you should never, ever, cut into a boarding line" arguments.
We'll get the "... pax with children should always have priority" arguments.

The solution is a well implemented priority boarding system. Then it doesn't matter what others think - you can simply choose to use it or not.

But "row 3"? Of what airline, on what plane is that? (is it Virgin? - it's not Qantas, I know). Qantas let high status pax select the first rows.

Virgin
Who still flies Qantas?
Esp from OOL where Jetstar and Qantas shafted the Commuters a year or so back

Haha who still travels on QF? Well thousands of people a day and with about 120 flights a day from Sydney and about 100 per day from Melbourne, quite a few obviously.

It was more than a year ago QF pulled out of OOL.

Virgin
Who still flies Qantas?

60% of domestic travellers.

Note I have had around 40 flights on QF DOM over the past 12 months and have never had overhead luggage issues - I have had 2 flights on Virgin and have not had good overhead experiences.

Like I said
Qantas/Jetstar killed the GC to Syd and Melb trade certainly for business people.
I have flown the route for two years weekly to either syd or melb
I cant see any regulars boarding Jetstar.
They are all to a man or woman on Virgin.
Now with A lounge opening Virgin own the Gold coast.
:D

Also how have Jetstar 'shafted the Commuters' especially if JQ fly numerous times a day, usually more than DJ?

Closed the Qantas club...much like how they lost all the corp travellers on the akld wgtn flights!
They all fly air nz now due to no lounge

Priority boarding can be purchased from JQ and is included on the fares that 'business type people' usually purchase/
WP's can access the JQ lounge or pay $10 or something similar for any other members.
Actually all the business travellers now fly QF trans-tasman as NZ has downgraded their product and generally only fly single class aircraft.

To answer the question posed. I use virgin's seat selection 14 days before my flight and always *touch wood* get row 3. I suggest the OP does the same.

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app so please excuse the lack of links.
