I'm in the Sydney lounge now and can't find the sandwich toaster. Did they disappear? :O

I looked yesterday in Melbourne too and couldn't see it.

On my way to SYD now so will have a look!

It was a trial for Sydney only, maybe it got stolen by the soup rep who noticed the drop in demand for their product!

We love our toasties / grills as much as you do so will be trialling sandwich presses in SYD lounge later this week. If all goes well, all lounges will soon have sandwich presses.

So either the trial didn't go well (perhaps another fire incident?) or they are upgrading to super industrial toastie makers, because there is definitely not one in the Sydney lounge now!

was at Virgin Sydney domestic yesterday, and the PA announcement was "welcome to virgin blue flight...blah blah blah............oh sorry, that was welcome to Virgin Australia......." hahahaha

Yes I was! I was sitting up the top as well ... maybe we need a board at the entrance to the lounge announcing which AFFers are in the house!

Damn. Would have walked past you several times, running back and forth to the service desk.

I did have an AFF luggage tag attatched to my bag. Obviously it isn't DYKWIA enough. Maybe we need to send out a large flag & flagpole to each lounge. Requesting that when an AFF member is inside the lounge, the flag be raised.

Just another note... Did you notice the softdrink machine was a bit faulty? It didn't seem to stop when I took my finger off the button. *Red Cheeks*

Soft drink? After my two days in Sydney beer was the only thing I was drinking!

Maybe we need a Foursquare or Facebook style check-in system in the AFF iPhone app that alerts us when we are in a lounge with other AFF members! Admin - can you make this happen?!

Lounge angel advised that the trial toaster is on it's way back (was being tested and tagged), and yes, they are looking to upgrade to super industrial model to meet (AFF) demand.

MunitalP sells them from a website he runs. PM him for the URL if you want some. Think they were $6 ea from memory.

I'm in the SYD lounge now and the toaster is here. Used the premium entry for the first time as well. Wow! Haven't they done that well! No usual T2 issues with getting dropped off at the front, quickly checked in and the security staff have obviously been told to smarten up as they're all in jackets, smiling and saying sir. It was literally 90 seconds from getting out of the car to having Asahi in hand. Well done Virg!
