Solar Panel, Power & Battery Discussion

Not sure about WA, but the problem over the last 12+ months has been that the Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) has reduced substantially at the same time as the supply charges have risen substantially. So even if you managed to sell enough back to the grid as before this period, you received less $ and also paid more $ just to be connected but not using much power.

Prior to this I was regularly selling enough to the grid to offset the supply charge and also not using much power from the grid.

So long story short I’m sure you can save over paying for all your power from the power companies, with panels, but not as well as before and I’m not even talking about those huge incentives they used to dole out.

The Federal small scale renewable energy scheme is open to businesses who install up to 1000kWh of solar and up to 100kWh of battery.
The value of batteries will depend on afternoon and evening energy consumption. As Commercial buildings are generally daytime "business hr" operations, a battery may not be ncecessary . YMMV

I did get a battery for my factory unit. best decision ever.
we've had 3-4 blackouts due to weather and car accidents 4KM away..and we've been able to continue working as normal
also as it was under $20k, instant asset writeoff :D

We have recently moved house so took the opportunity to install a 30kW battery and 12kW panels (all that could fit on my roof). This was at the same time as double glazing, window shutters and solar HWS. 😳

Over the last three months no use from the grid.

Let’s see what summer brings with the a/c on. The in-laws have moved in and I have made it very clear there is to be no talk of “saving electricity” if they need to cool down.
