It’s always been that way. But only takes a few moments.

Was the banana loaf there also or at the main buffet?

Banana cut piece, or the loaf, was from the Panini bar, ...
I dont know why they had put it there.
After 11.30am, they then put the crisps out too.
Prior to that, it was the banana loaf/bread.
Of course, its not as flash as say, the CX the Pier or SIN SQ F lounge.
Wont make it a habit, but just my annual pass through.
But I guess, for what we pay, it suffices, granted, they could do a bit better, like upgrade the loos for more electronic hand dryers, ...

As far as I know, cabin crew as of now dont dont do searches, neither does AFP on a normal basis.
If you meaning eating it on board, it might work, it might not, as you then have to get rid of the wrapper.
And a thought, you might need an oblong plastic container to take it from the lounge to the plane, trust me, wrapping it in mouth tissues does not work, as its too small and flimsy.
They dont provide fabric siervettes in the lounge anyway.
Good luck in trying it, if you do a bit of pre planning, and plan to eat it on arrival at the hotel or at home, probably 100% works.
On the plane, not sure what the (fa) crew would say, maybe nothing.

Way, way back when we lived in the NW of WA and my father and friends used to go kangaroo hunting from time to time. They would always check the roo's pouch for a joey, and would bring it home to care for it for a few weeks until someone took it off their hands. The tail of the roo that was shot would be cut off, and made a very nice soup.
