New Qantas Double status credits offer (book by 2/9/26; travel 3/9/26 until 14/8/27)

Almost like clockwork from last year - new QF Double Status offer is live now, for travel between 3 September 2026 and 14 August 2027.

Same process as usual - activate 'Twice as Rewarding' promo in the app and choose double points or double status credits.

There's also a Qantas Hotels/Holidays double points promo

Thats feels normal - usually there's not a sale and DSC at the same time. Which is why I go watch movies instead and wait for sales later.

Am I right in understanding that If I was to walk into the theatre counter and ask to watch a movie after 2nd September, it would still be a happy screening if the tickets were bought during the short window?

TnC have been updated every DSC, nothing has changed practically at all. It's possible that things change, but until we see some IT overhaul I wouldn't expect a change. But usually someone has been a guinea pig pretty soon after.

In QF's defence, that'd still be infinitely faster than it took them to get the Auckland lounge sorted.

I still have unused movie tickets from two past promotions. As long as the cinemas don’t become overcrowded I doubt things will change. Maybe if they eventually overhaul the very outdated movie ticket booking system that will ruin things.
Tomorrow I’ll buy enough movie tickets for the next year.

I suspect it’s a very tiny fraction of punters. Even smaller subset who know the cheapest movie screenings.

As long as you procure your movie ticket during the Second Happy Time, then you can go see a show later on and have the double viewing special rate applied.

Do I get DSC on the AY wet lease QF flights? = Yes.
Does my AMEX flight credit earn DSC? = Yes, provided you've booked a flight that meets all the relevant criteria.
Where did all the sale fares go? = Sales and DSC/DP promos don't typically occur at the same time.
Will I earn DSC on Award Flights as PC/PC+? = Yes you will, per the Classic Flight Rewards Tables for Points Club Members.
Was it the original movie or the Director's Cut? = Time will tell, but we all enjoy the classic ending.
Will I earn DSC on Alliance? = Yes all QantasLink services including operated by Alliance, National Jet Systems, Network Aviation, Eastern Australia Airlines and Sunstate Airlines are eligible.
Does a QF flight number on EK metal count? = Nope (nor do any other QF flights not operated by Qantas, QantasLink or the Finnair AY wet lease QF flights).
Come on! I just booked J flights to XYZ :-( = If booked within 24 hours and departing from AU then you might be eligible for free cancellation. Otherwise, too bad - you're subject to full cancellation if you wish to cancel and rebook (a change doesn't count).
Does this mean there won't be another DSC promo in [month]? = Qantas decide and announce the DSC promos and never give any early indication, there are some historically consistent patterns, but as with most things in life, nothing is guaranteed.
Has anyone's DSC posted yet? = DSC's typically take a few days after the flight to post however on the first flight of your DSC promos this can take longer up to several weeks.
Can I use a TA/OTA and still earn DSC? = Sure can.
When's the next DSC Promo? = It hasn't been announced yet but expected shortly.
Don't talk about Fight Club. = Don't know what you're on about .

Do the DSC count toward LT Status? = This time? Yes. Next time? Anyone's guess.
Will I earn DSC for flights I booked 3 months ago? = Nope.
Can I earn DSC on flights originating from int'l ports? = Absolutely! There's no restriction on flights to, from or within Australia (provided you meet all the other relevant criteria).
I didn't book any DSC flights. Can I still earn DSCs? ........
Will I earn DSC on Jetstar? Firstly, it's pronounced "Death-star", and secondly, no, no you will not.

Suspect QF will give us an update about those when the full-year results are released tomorrow.

Saw some other sites claiming QF has removed reward inventory in recent days. Wouldn't surprise me if they then release a "flood" of classic rewards tomorrow to water down the announcements.
