Qatar started flying non-Qsuite aircraft to Adelaide

AeroRoutes is reporting that QR is resuming the Adelaide - Auckland tag flights in June 2026. Running until September at this stage

Just booked QR915 from AKL-ADL for Dec 5 2026. Just saw here they’re (possibly) not running the route past Sept. No idea why they let you book it then…. :/

Looks like all flights from the 11th of December are currently scheduled on non-Qsuite A350's. My flight was changed to the reverse herringbone and I have family flying few days later and their seating arrangements are also showing reverse herringbone.

It's still obviously subject to change but will be interesting to see what happens.

This has been happening for many years now with Qatar (admittedly, not necessarily on this specific route) but can also go the other way (we got Q suites on 3 out of 4 sectors a while ago where only 1 was originally meant to be). But as some others have notices: Qatar service generally isn't that shiny anymore, the Q suite is quite overrated and fares are often also not as affordable as they used to be.

Add to that Doha airport which I never particularly liked and the fact that traveling through here can end up in a missile rain any time again- I'd not even consider QR at a discount right now. And the competition is playing catch up- I had recent trips in CX excellent Aria suite and even MH's A330 neo's suite seats and both experiences easily bet my most recent QR flights.

I was gonna say I think the a350 is an improvement over the QSuite… but it seems they have non-flush headrests on those too?

It seems that every year now ADL gets the non QSuites for sometimes up to a couple of months at a time.
I try to avoid those if possible and our preference to most destinations is via 2 stops so don’t mind picking up QR in Asia.
I actually don’t mind DOH and think it’s a decent airport. We love the city too and I’d have no hesitation heading there currently.
Would definitely be nice if QR could get some consistency in seats across all its aircraft though
