Just looking at booking a china southern fare in Sept for BNE to AMS (as a back up for current qatar booking). Google flights is showing I can book with the airline for $5.7k (approx). When I try to do this the fare is over $7k. Any advice on price differential appreciated.
Google flights also shows you use expedia and booking.com to book at $5.7k or lower, but I'd like to book direct.
Any advice appreciated.

I’d use expedia, but not booking.com.

Expedia or trip.com have been selling flights for years and have a good reputation. Some of the others started life as hotel bookers.

Any of the other suggestions check google reviews first.

Probably about right in terms of booking direct… some of the OTAs can offer big discounts on the chinese carriers.

Use trip.com, unless you have the Alipay mini apps such as fliggy, booking with the airline will be a PITA

Hey mate

I just booked this route for September and used Aunt Betty where the flights were $4600 in J. Got the CZ booking reference and everything to manage seats and meals etc.

TBH the China Southern website and App are pretty much useless and most complain about not being able to use them very well so not sure booking directly makes a huge difference.

wow - that's some saving. Did Aunt Betty or CZ want extra $$ for seat selection?
