Have been getting them daily for the past 3-4 days (actually, twice - but same info).

Correction - last 2 days (but like, I said, I get them twice :) .)

What are the prices like for accom at the Burj?

I imaging very cheap, especially if you choose the QR 'Stopover Doha' offer.

Dubai authorities have confirmed that two drones fell in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport (DXB) on Wednesday morning, resulting in minor injuries to two Ghanaian nationals and one Bangladeshi national, and moderate injuries to one Indian national. Air traffic is operating as normal after a brief suspension

Reported in The Fin Review today (prob paywalled) re Qantas and its hedging

Qantas faces profit hit despite soaring fares as fuel becomes scarce

This week the airline said it would increase international airfares by about 5 per cent, adding as much as $230 to services to London, a route where the cost of an economy flight has doubled to about $4500.

Qantas had told the market refining margins would be about $US20 a barrel this year. The dangers of transiting the Strait of Hormuz, which has sent the price of Brent crude bouncing, has pushed that to $US120. And unlike the oil price, the airline has not hedged those costs.

...

While more than 80 per cent of Qantas’ oil is hedged, the airline is buying fuel directly from refineries, which have increasingly curtailed their production as they face dwindling supplies from the Middle East.

In China, which supplied 32 per cent of Australia’s aviation fuel last year, the government has asked big refineries to cancel shipments.

Singapore and South Korea were major suppliers, providing more than 1 billion litres each, while Malaysia, Taiwan and India also shipped fuel.

I had QR flights later this week booked on 081 ticket stock. Did not receive any direct notification from either QR or QF when the flight cancellations came through. The disruptions were visible on Manage My Booking.

Now rebooked by my TA (going to the USA).

Flights currently holding east away from the airport... I wonder what the inflight PA is... Ladies and Gentlemen we are currently holding awaiting drones and missiles to pass. Once safe we will be cleared to land.

Seems to be cutting it all a little fine for my liking.

Thank you @Seat0B. You're obviously experiencing the same issues and it's quiet stressful. Hope everything works out with your sons wedding.
Well their EK flight today looks like it’s been affected by the drone strikes. It was due to depart about 1 hr ago and still has not. Plan B may yet get a run. I was hoping to go to bed tonight knowing they were safely away and we would see them in Johannesburg on Saturday. But now I’m not so sure the6 will get away, or whether it will be safe. I’ve almost reached the point of shrugging my shoulders and being fatalistic.

When you say direct notifications .. wouldn't those go to the TA (a query - I don't know; I'll be in the same boat shortly)).
They are supposed to notify the pax when it’s actually cancelled.
I did get the auto text from QF but it didn’t have anything useful on it. Just the generic “we are monitoring the situation”
