Qantas Economy Plus Launching Feb 2026

Yep sorry should have explained that better 🤦‍♂️.
The dummy booking is for a flight tomorrow that I’m also travelling on but made a dummy booking using a different FF account for a different status level.
Maybe like your experience when check-in opens it goes back to being blocked.
How or why do you have a second QFF account? But meanwhile, hopefully the shadow appears!

Ours is still showing blocked even though I’ve not seen a WP shadow for ages. I suspect they’re only blocked to non-P1/CL now - which is not a bad thing.

Well, until there’s a cancellation.

They have access to another QFF account (like a partner), and that account has WP status because as a WP1 they gifted them that status.

Yes, I figured that. It was getting direct access to both was confusing.

As previously mentioned here, it’s free for WPs.

What’s interesting is that row 4 never became available to select. Checked at T-80, T-24 and T-1. Not even for a fee.

Only one pax sitting on 4F. The remaining 5 seats in row 4 are empty. He must be a P1.

Weird that there wasn’t an option to pay or use points for row 4.

I’m flying Brisbane to Sydney and am Platinum.
I booked 5D originally at no charge. Row 4 was to cost $60. On checking seats again about 1/2 hour prior to checkin I was offered row 4 for free. It said 100% discount.
I am in 4D with no one next to me. Likewise there is a pax in 4C also with no one next to them. .
Row 4 I believe has more legroom than J and certainly more than row 5.
Feels a bit strange with the divider gone…
Flight is 3/4 full with many plus seats empty and only 2 extra legroom seats occupied.

By check-in do you mean T-24. So you checked at T-24.5 for example
I saw the “free” Row 4 (posted above) a couple hours before OLCI opened. I don’t know how long prior it had switched from $50 to Free.

I wonder now the divider has gone between J & Y and there is no signage say Business class only past this point, which lavatory can economy plus passengers use. I didn’t hear any announcement but could have missed it …

They made an announcement on my flight. But just that there are 2 at rear for those seated in Rows 4 to 29. Apparently J cabin have to cross their legs…😁

Mid arvo flight from MEL to ADL, everyone in Y+ has an empty seat next to them.
On departure upgrade was available but can't justify it in that situation!

My two 737 flights over the past couple of days have been on the new config. The usual old hanging perspex divider was in place between J and the newly cavernous row 4. Perhaps some aircracft had them temporarily removed for some reason. FWIW both flights were on non-BSI aircraft.

I had 5A on both flights with a 5B shadow in both cases. Only a smattering of other empty seats, including a few other forward middle seats, presumably also shadows.

As a newly minted WP I'm of course happy with the additional legroom at no extra cost. But for many years as a SG doing too many Golden Triangle flights in Y, I benefitted from getting seats in rows 4 - 8 on most flights at T-80 - and strategically getting plenty of de-facto shadows when there's a higher status pax in the row. I guess T-24 is the new T-80 for Golds.

Just sat down on XZP which has been reconfigured. Row 1 has masses of legroom and row 4 about the same as it use to. So probably that’s a bsi thing.

No cabin divider either. Thought I suspect because the business cabin has moved back it’s to difficult to move the divider on the bsi aircraft (plus VXC) as it’s actually attached to the luggage bin to pivot down.

You can just make out the residue from the adhesive where it was attached which if it was still installed would be over row 3’s headrest.
