Has anyone used this offer?

I'm flying J from MAN - DOH - MEL next month, I do have access to Al Mourjan but have a 4h layover and if there's a decent bite from a restaurant to be had for 20 USD (or a bit more) to be had at a proper restaurant I wouldn't mind it! I'm aware it won't be enough for a meal but even something small and tasty wouldn't be bad.

There's so many restaurants on the list that I was wondering if anyone found anything which was worth it?

I used it last week. You need to present the boarding pass to the cashier before ordering. They will scan it, let you know how much you have to spend in local currency and then take your order. Well that was the process at KFC* and the sandwich cafe next to it.

*Don't judge me, I was traveling with kids and they hadn't eaten much on the flight!

I must admit I found this review a bit confusing.

So if you're flying on a Qatar flight, you need to use a Qatar Airways frequent flyer number? Doesn't this means no Velocity points will be earned?

We (two of us) are flying to Dublin from Canberra in February, business class, using Velocity Points on Qatar Airways flights. We probably won't have much time to shop as we'll be wanting to use the lounge, but Au$40 X 2 is not to be sniffed.

Likely we'll be returning in Cattle Class (not booked yet, but will almost certainly be booked on Qatar Airways, one ticket using Velocity Points the other cash) with a very short transit time in Doha, so probably not enough time to be worthwhile paying to access a lounge or the spa showers, but again Au$80 in the shops/cafes/restaurants would be nice. But not if it means losing (not being awarded) lots of Velocity Points.

It's also available to Velocity Frequent Flyer members.

It's 20 USD each so about 30 AUD pp

Sorry, yeah for some reason I was thinking in pounds sterling.

But the Points hack article is confusing about the membership numbers...

Anyway, we can but try.
