Velocity Platinum on South African Airways

I am needing to book about 8 domestic flights in South Africa and looking at using South African Airways to use my Platinum Benefits and get Credits etc. Will domestic flights count and will I get my benefits as listed in the VA website? Any recent feedback would be much appreciated!

Thanks, does not give me much hope if it is worth spending the extra $ to fly with them. Did you get status credits for your flights alright?

Yes, points and SCs arrived mid-August for a May return flight. I don’t remember if I had to log a claim, I don’t think so as I’d already decided VA WP/SG wasn’t worth retaining and knew the points would be tiny (284 for JNB-VFA).
