Switching FF number on Qatar booking

My first time attempting to do this - booking directly with Qatar (or any Oneworld airline for that matter) but wanting to use my QFF to get points and status instead of the default Avios or Qpoints.

Was originally wanting to book a return flight from Sydney to Dublin on the Qantas site but fares are way too expensive for J class. Found booking with Qatar directly was cheaper.

I think it has been alluded in these posts that I can add in my QF credentials at the time of booking with QR but the only option offered is Privilege Club. Is there another way of doing this or do I have to contact QR customer service? Thanks.

If it can’t be added at time of booking then yes you will have to deal with their customer “lack of” service.
Just beware that Qantas off a shocking points and SC earn rate on the SYD-DOH route

Thanks. Will keep this in mind.

Were you logged in with a PC account?

Tip - NEVER login to the airlines account (if you have one) when you want to use another airline FF account. It’ll just automatically grab your details and it can be a PITA to change.

If you stay logged out (ie “guest” mode), you can add partner FF details.

I’ve never had an issue adding my QFF details booking directly with QR.

That's perfect. It worked! Thanks for the tip.

No, I'm sticking with OW (QF). I've already lost my VA status.
I mean don’t chose the VA flights.
There are two flights daily out of SYD and if you take the VA one you won’t earn QF points on that flight. Unfortunately the VA one has the QSuites and Starlink which is far better product overall

Ah, gotcha. I am actually starting my journey from Singapore and ending in Singapore, and there are only QR flights that I can see.

Correct. I inferred from your first post you were starting from SYD.
Starting in SIN is good
My bad. Originally I did want to start off from Sydney but found the fares too steep. I am now planning to use points for SYD-SIN-SYD, and then book paid QR flights for SIN-DOH-DUB-EDI-DOH-SIN.
Sorry, I should have explained this.
