Hi just after advice on how/ if you were successful / if i'm dreaming

Qatar has changed our flight from EU to NZ via doha (obviously) by 24hrs, due to cancellation of the doh-akl flight on our original booking date. I would like to either get compensation for an extra nights accom at the departure point OR accomodation in Doha for the 19 hour layover taking a later flight on the original booking day would incur.

The flight is a few months away.

Has anyone had any success with this and how did you approach it. Or is it a case of just sucking it up? thanks

Under EU261 you’re not entitled to $$, but you are still entitled to re-routing, plus meals and accommodation for the ‘delay’.

You’d have thought QR would be happy to pay for your qatar stopover, given hotels are like $14 per person per night under their stopover program!

Can you not check for re-routing? Perhaps QR as far as SIN and then SQ or NZ to AKL?
