20000 bonus Velocity points for a year VIP subs to RSL Art Union

I signed up for this. I’ll assess after I get the first 10,000 points if I want to stay a VIP member. I do buy these lotteries from time to time but not sure I want to commit to $50 a month for 12 months.

Hmmmm. Ts and Cs say you get the 10k after the second monthly payment… so $100 for 10,000 VA points. 🤔

Do I stand for 6 hours in the queue at the 1 point reward store tomorrow, or pay $100? 😝

Do you value your time at greater than min wage (it'd equal $16.666/h :P)

Joking (not a fair comparison either), but tbh I'm gonna spend $100 for 10k VA points - I see the lottery entries as a bonus.

They tend to be blocks of units, apparently they give you a year of strata fees for free, if one entity owns everything one wonders why a strata would be needed?

It takes a million mins to get off their auto direct debit, my dad who is older now with my brother rang fir ghem to stol direct debit, they kept trying to convince him to continue.

Because they're x number of apartments all with separate title, so get set up that way by default. And are designed that way as well e.g. x separate addresses, mailboxes, garbage collection, metering and so on.

The fact you're an owner of all x doesn't change that they're separate entities. But means they can be easily sold off in future - which would not be easily done if there was only a single title. And that's part of its selling point, that you may choose to live in one, and sell (or rent) the others. Even selling as a single block would also be more difficult if you wanted to sell all, for the same reason to the future buyer. You're limiting the market.

Does this count as a cash advance if you pay with CC?

Historically the answer is no, but I recall there was some debate a few years ago about shifting them from the "charity" to "gambling" column in terms of merchant category code.

I have a standard renewable purchase via CC set up and it goes through as a normal payment with no problems at all, def not cash advance oh and it earns points on the CC purchase too.

I thought about this...but Im getting a lot of Velocity pts from Flybuys atm so not sure I want 10000 Velocity pts for $100
