Im KF Gold, got a domestic SYD-MEL, I'm travelling with wife and a 9 year old. I know I'm entitled to a guest for VA lounge access in SYD but what's the kids rule?

Domestically have got in with 4 people on the single membership (member, an adult guest and 2 children). This has been every time we have tried (around 20 times to date). Sometimes let known that we are not entitled to it. But have always been let in to date. Obviously doesn’t mean you will every time. But definitely worth asking.

How does the digital VA Boarding Pass recognise SQ Gold status? Nothing I can see on my SYD-BNE pass indicates priority boarding, or group or anything.

I don't know if it is mentioned here, VA Customers on Gold/Platinum can have access to SQ lounges ONLY if those lounges are operated by SQ (eg: Melbourne Airport, Sydney Airport, etc) however, they cannot access 3rd party lounges like Plaza Premium (eg: Jakarta airport, Tokyo Airport) despite SQ customers can access them.

So it is not 100% like to like arrangement between VA and SQ.

This is also the case for other Star Alliance Gold customers as well. I've got *G with Asiana and when I'm using it on my Singapore Airlines booking I've (usually) only got access to contract lounges if it's a contract with another *A airline.
