Virgin Australia Lounge Adelaide so sad so basic

Biggest gripe I have with VA lounge is the alacrity with which they clear away the breakfast menu. Adelaide is where I encounter this. The new security "enhancements" for the priority lane mean that scanning takes about three times as long as before. Breakfast disappears at 10.30 am but cold breakfast disappears at 10.15 am. I'm generally J out of Adelaide so I'm not fighting for a hot meal at that time of day, but I do enjoy some muesli and yoghurt, along with the excellent (but variable!) selection of berries.
Very frustrating to fight your way through security, arrive in the lounge at 10.20 am, just in time to see them whisk away the Greek yoghurt!

I was in there last night .. what did surprise me was at the podium there is now only one computer, the staffers quietly griped about.

Was trying to change seating, and the one unit was taking an eternity to bring up seat map, so much so, had to go inside for a drink while they waited for it to respond.

WHY where there were always 2, Bain would remove one, only they know. Nickel and diming in the extreme

The security in Adelaide are always super zealous to the point of stupidity in my experience. The far outside Elite/Business line does work well to gt the front of line, and there was a guy checking those in it were eligible, but the human scanners have their own set of rules in Adelaide.

Had an squarish alabaster carved mantel ornament that was about 8 inches x 6 inches and weighed a few kilos, in my carry on.

They flagged it - for being 'something I could knock out a crew member with'. I thought he was joking but was not. I asked what about a few kilo hardcover book, or a larger laptop that each weighed the same - are they are confiscated? .. no answer.

Asked him to check with supervisor - same story.

Race to priority check-in to be told less than 30 mins to flight now, so check in now closed. This is one of the few times a Plat card pays off .. a phone call internally and someone cleared it being added.

Then back to Security line again.

Never had a problem with the ADL fast track security. Was there a couple of weeks ago flying SQ ADL-SIN, having to go through 2 sets of security systems and not a problem. But I could reel of dozens of airports around the world where they are much more finicky.
