What happened? You can't change a flight online, only calling. So formerly, the Platinum call centre is now ... offshore. Very sub par experience compared to 'before' the 'masters of the universe' took control, right? Defeats the purpose of a Flexi fare really.......

Sadly it is better than before. If they were as before they would not exist anymore. They are making money now which is good for competition, but the product is real LCC and inflexible.

He dedicates a bit to it in his book .. ultimately that QF and AJ exerted undue influence on the federal government to not give VA any assistance during the pandemic. But then the federal government (courtesy of the Nationals) gave Rex a very significant handout (the likes of which would have saved Virgin from collapse).

I mean, in reality Virgin did fall over. But it could still be in Australian hands if not for the machinations of QF and AJ. I found it a fascinating read!
