China Airlines inflight wifi, any experience?

Well when I booked the flights 10 months ago I obviously didn't know it would clash with my sports watching...sigh...
Anyways, normally I wouldn't bother with wifi on an overnight flight but now it's become necessary.

I've struggled with the CI website:

Complimentary Wi-Fi Onboard Redemption

CHINA AIRLINES Prototype
calec.china-airlines.com

Sounds like QFF redemption ticket should have complimentary wifi?
But it doesn't let me redeem the ticket (really want to know what CI was thinking when they came up with this...) I suspect the QF booking reference is not good for CI...also how do I find out the booking class of the ticket? In QF "managing bookings" it's blank.

Will buy it when push comes to shove but obviously free will be better!

Free wifi is only for tickets starting with 297 or 803.
QF ticket plate is 081 so unfortunately that will not work.

This was my experience too.

Also, one of the most uncomfortable flights I ever had in their A350, horrid economy seats, just really weird position could not get comfortable. Hope you are flying J!

Thanks yeah it is a redemption ticket in J.
I'm too old for long haul whY these days!
