That damn X thing. Thankyou, an interesting article. I must have very crumbly X then, or maybe three? I'm up to four auto immune things now.

Hopefully much better now. Poor lamb and poor parents too. Always a worry.Ambulance ride and night in hospital for Master TC on Thursday. Some viral thing that left him working very hard to get air in.
That is very worrying for parents.Ambulance ride and night in hospital for Master TC on Thursday. Some viral thing that left him working very hard to get air in.
He's still pretty wheezy but improving rapidly. Swab came back positive for rhinovirus and adenovirus.Hopefully much better now. Poor lamb and poor parents too. Always a worry.
Wish you all well. Croup or other childhood wheezy illnesses requiring ambulance are very scary. Our youngest had a couple of trips and even though mrsandye is a very experienced ED nurse we still remember themHe's still pretty wheezy but improving rapidly. I rang nurse on call as I wasn't sure and they called the ambulance for me. Only a short wait (5ish minutes) before we had a room and a few hours later we moved to short stay. Can't complain about the process.Wish you all well. Croup or other childhood wheezy illnesses requiring ambulance are very scary. Definitely sounds like cellulitis. Advice from someone who has had 100+ cellultis infections. Commence Keflex, rest and elevation. Make sure ankle is no lower than height of hip whenever you sit. You could even elevate your leg onto a pillow when you go to bed. This will set you right until you can see your doctor on Monday. He/she will likely continue what you started.Yesterday morning the inside of the left ankle was very sore. Tender and pain radiating up the leg. Either osteoarthritis but more than likely 3rd bout of cellulitis in same leg in 18 months. No redness but pain and sensation exactly the same as previous cellulitis infections.
Note yesterday had flu like symptoms but no signs of flu. Tired. Muscles sore. Wanted to sleep. Drove down to Gold Coast and flew to Sydney this morning. Ankle still tender and sore. Tired and just want to sleep. Check ankle and there is redness there and it's warm/hot to the touch. Cellulitis again.
So what now? Where do you go to seek medical treatment this time of the night? Were heading back to Gold Coast tomorrow afternoon and no time to look for medical centre. Not sure I would get any precedence in hospital at this time. I think waiting to see GP in Brisbane on Monday is too late.
This is why I keep a supply of antibiotics for these types of emergencies. I have Keflex and Doxycycline in Brisbane but waiting another day is too long. I did bring Amoxil, Augmentin Forte and Roxythromycin to Sydney with me. I think best I start Augmentin now and see GP Monday.a
Don't have Keflex in Sydney with me. Stupid should have brought it along.Definitely sounds like cellulitis. Advice from someone who has had 100+ cellultis infections. Commence Keflex, rest and elevation.
I don't think Augmentin will help you. Keflex is the drug of choice for cellulutis. Perhaps @Quickstatus or @drron can comment. I don't know if an ED would be of any help.Don't have Keflex in Sydney with me. Stupid should have brought it along.
I can start Keflex in 24 hours or Augmentin Forte today. Those 24 hours could be very crucial.
This is the problem with GPs in Australia at the moment. This is now my 3rd cellulitis infection in 18 months. GP should give me a script of Keflex to have on hand. Time is of the essence with these infections. By the way Keflex did not work with 1st infection and I ended up with Augmentin for 4 weeks.I don't think Augmentin will help you. Has your last script of Kelfex been dispensed? Do you have a repeat? If so a chemist in Sydney might be able to call your last dispensing chemist to confirm. A chemist in the Gold Coast helped me out once in that regard.
I hadn't heard of augmentin being used for cellulitis so new to me. Rest and elevation should not be underestimated. This is the problem with GPs in Australia at the moment. Funny thing happened last night and goes to show level of fitness and age.I hadn't heard of augmentin being used for cellulitis so new to me. Rest and elevation should not be underestimated.
Likely just a muscle cramp.Funny thing happened last night and goes to show level of fitness and age.
I was sitting in kitchen and put my left leg on chair next to me to keep leg elevated. Pinched muscle in middle of thigh. Not what I needed. LoL.
Augmentin is not first choice when treating cellulitis but I could not wait until tonight to start Keflex. Note that Augmentin is broad spectrum antibiotic and can be used if Keflex not effective so why not used first up as well? Anyway it's done now.
