Availability of credit vouchers is at the sole discretion of Qantas Hotels, and Qantas Hotels may refuse to issue, or otherwise cancel, a credit voucher and deduct all associated bonus Qantas Points for cancelled vouchers, where it reasonably believes the customer is abusing or misusing the credit voucher offer, these terms and conditions, or the Qantas Frequent Flyer terms and conditions.​

Terms & Conditions

  • Redeemable for one-way or return Qantas domestic or international flights (excluding multi city bookings) departing Australia only, including fees, taxes and carrier charges.
  • If the full balance of the voucher is not redeemed in one transaction, a new voucher will be issued as set out in the full terms and conditions for the unused portion of that voucher.
  • If more than one voucher recipient, all recipients must redeem and travel together.

Mine earlier in the month had this wording:

Only valid for flights that are within or depart from Australia, which are paid for in Australian Dollars at www.qantas.com.
– Not valid for round-the-world flights, flights paid for via Qantas ticket offices or airport locations, and flights paid for via third parties such as travel agents, online aggregators or payment processors.
– Before booking, ensure you check the latest travel restrictions and important information.
– Additional Cards are not eligible for this offer.
– Offer is limited to one credit per Card to which the offer is saved and only spend on this Card counts towards the Offer.
– Excludes transactions where you do not spend directly with your Card to which the offer is saved, at Qantas at www.qantas.com/au/en.html. Offer valid at Australian website only.
– Excludes transactions made through a third party establishment or payment processor.
– Credit is not redeemable for cash or other payment form.
– Credit should appear on your billing statement within 15 business days from qualifying spend but may take up to 90 days from the offer end date.
– Credit will not be applied to your Card Account if your Card has been suspended or cancelled.
– Credit may be reversed if your qualifying purchase is refunded or cancelled.

I got the credit for taxes on an award booking, which included both Aus domestic and international flights.

This is my prior experience as well. I haven't made any bookings yet this time around.
