Not exactly new news but I just stumbled on this feature in iOS 16. In “Setting” under “Wi-Fi” there’s a new “Edit” link that lets you view, edit and delete previously visited wifi networks.

So if you want to take a walk down travel memory lane - take a look.

Yes I know, Android has had this feature forever but for some reason Apple chose to firmly bolt it down…until now.

Interesting!

Just had a look. Have a few “helpful” network names like “guest” and “hotel”. 🤣

iPhone but not iPad
But if you edit/delete something via an iPhone it appears to rolling that through keychain and probably removes/updates the same entry on the iPad (if it has it).

Same setting in iPad. OS 16.x

I have 8 pages of previous Wifi connections!
I haven’t upgraded my iPad yet. On my “To Do” list. Did the phone a few weeks ago but SYD+1 has been having all manner of issues on iPad and now iPhone (both on iOS 16). Sorting out wifi issues is how I stumbled on the “Edit” option. I hadn’t noticed it at all for several weeks prior.

The earliest one I can identify with certainty is Feb 2013, which is about the time I first got an iPhone.

420 connections!
I’ve had to do the “nuclear” option (Reset Network Settings) too many times to go that far back but still, there’s many years of stuff.

Regardless of what device you have, it’s always funny when you return to a pub or restaurant many years later and they haven’t changed the wifi password…. 😁
