EK415 timing change [15 hours earlier]

Both of my calls were with RSA agents. Both very polite and helpful.

The first one was great, he didn't dismiss my request. He rather immediately sought out additional information from his support network. I've dealt with some other RSA agents who haven't been as helpful.

I just get frustrated with the endless pauses and being put on hold for long periods of time without any acknowledgement. An agent the other day even came back on the line and referred to me by another name, which appeared to confirm my horror that they are juggling calls.

I am now totally traumatised after three days of talking with numerous Qantas staff each of whom has done a little (or in one case substantial) bit to totally stuff my reservation. If would be great if I could somehow win the call centre lottery and speak with one of the outstandingly professional and competent ones that we know exist albeit increasingly rare.

On Tuesday I had SYD-DXB-MIL flights booked and ticketed in F. That night my 9:45pm flight on EK415 changed to 6:00am. I called Qantas on Wednesday to change my connecting flight as I now had a 20 hour DXB layover. Qantas advised that EK413 was available departing at 9:45pm as per my original booking and asked if I would like to change to EK413. I said yes and my booking promptly disappeared from the Qantas website.

That night another text arrived advising that my flight on QF8415 had changed from a 9:45pm departure to a 6:00am departure. Yes, Qantas had moved me to their own code share flight number for EK415 rather than to EK413.

Another call to Qantas on Thursday and was told I was now on EK413 and it would be ticketed usually within 24 hours, but still nothing visible under My Bookings. On checking Emirates website my EK413 flight was showing in F as "New flight schedule". Called Emirates today to find out when this would be ticketed and was told Qantas had me booked on EK413 but ticketed on EK415 and I would have to call Qantas.

Called Qantas and they said they would "expedite". Then noticed F for EK413 was sold out on Emirates website. Called Qantas again and asked for a manager. Told they were all busy and CS person told me he could help. Finally ticketed on EK413 only problem was he ticketed into Y. Advised that my booking was for F, then the call was cut-off.

Called back insisting on speaking with a manager. Supervisor told me my booking was in Y and not F. I told the supervisor I already had tickets in rows 1 & 2 on A380's and screen shots of Emirates and Qantas websites showing First (Z). Told by supervisor to send to customercare email and I would receive a reply maybe Saturday or Sunday, but definitely by Monday.

Now waiting for Qantas to respond. They tell me all of these calls are recorded so should not be difficult for them to verify with tickets, screenshots and details of credit card payments provided, but not confident they will do anything.

Does anyone competent from Qantas still visit these forums? If so please PM me. I don't think I can face another day of dealing with Qantas call centres.

Will never understand why Emirates did not move all passengers originally booked on EK415 at 2145 to their new flight number at 2145 - EK413, before reintroducing flight number EK415 as their 0600 departure. Such a terribly handled schedule change, made even worse when you then have to make use of the QF contact centre in order to amend/reticket your booking.

Maybe they sent an agency bulletin, because I imagine anything booked via an agent (as qf is acting in this case) would require their intervention.

If that's what happened it would surprise no one Qantas didn't sort it out in advance/proactively :)

Still no tickets issued for my case. Three calls to QF and two got disconnected. Third agent said that she’s put an urgent request but the ‘ticketing is now closed’.

Is there any risk of losing the seats if QF don’t issue the tickets for another few days? It’s been over 48 hours now.

Might be worth a call to Emirates to explain situation and see if they can remove any ticketing deadline, based on the fact that you are already ticketed and just require QF to reissue.
Emirates put us all in this difficult position, so I would really hope that they would be accommodating.
Best wishes 🤞

My ticketing didn’t come through for 3 days. Have a friend that changed a paid F ticket on EK through QF and their reticketing took longer than mine.

I finally have tickets on EK413. Took 4 additional calls to QF and a complaint email to be sent but it got there in the end. I'm all set for EK F to DXB in March.

Next challenge will be surviving the flight with my 15 month old 🙃

Congrats. I’m smart, my 15mo grandson is on a different plane with my husband and daughter! 🤣

Still trying, FB messenger, Twitter, three phone calls. All with no reply or no joy. But, I will persevere and overcome! Or just enjoy an early breakfast on EK 409!😩

The agents on QF’s schedule change number 1300 659 115 were the ones who got us sorted in the end. I even had to reach out to them again yesterday, due to further schedule changes (after JL cancelled our HND/SYD flight). This number is generally answered quickly and I was not asked to explain how I got a hold of the number, as I was clearly calling for legitimate reasons.

Good news, I now have two bookings MEL-DXB. One on EK409 and one on EK407. Appears my Twitter message got through. Have checked QANTAS and Emirates sites and is showing on both.
Now the anxious wait to see if the change sticks.

Hi all I had the exact same issue. Originally booked a business classic rewards flight to Paris

EK415 - SYD-DXB 9:10pm
2 hour 40 minute stopover
EK73 - DXB-CDG 8:20am

Flight changed to
EK415 - SYD-DXB 6am
19 hour stop over
EK73 - DXB-CDG 8:20am (next day)

After phone call, flight changed to
EK413 - SYD-DBX 9:10pm

Thanks to everyone's advice and suggestion on this thread, I just called QCC (had a friendly and knowledgeable customer service rep) and have had EK415 changed to EK413 (departing at original time). Although this is pending Emirates confirmation (could take up to 48 hours). My booking currently shows both flights, hopefully it gets approved!

I wonder why Emirates didn't move EK415 back to 9:10pm when they re-introduced the 2nd daily flight from Sydney (EK413)?

This is what I am currently going through. Did you ever hear back / resolve this issue?

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

This is why I'm afraid to get qantas to change it, even though ppl in this thread have had success with it. I tried once and the rep was adamant that nothing could be done as there weren't any F reward seats on EK413 available.

At this stage I'm thinking of just spending a relaxing afternoon/evening in Dubai given that entry requirements into the UAE and Switzerland have both been relaxed and no covid testing will be required by either country.
