For those booking domestic connections, the 2x SCs only apply to the trans-Tasman flights. Still some pretty good SC earn rates.

AKL to OOL in J return is not bad.

Under the current promo you'd earn 10,000 15,000 points and 320 status credits for NZ$899. (It's 5,000 bonus points per sector).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Nice one. I’ve just booked a few trips to NZ in the past couple of weeks. Can’t be bothered to cancel / rebook.
C’est la vie ☺️

Excellent! I'm planning to head over to New Zealand next week and hadn't booked yet, so have now registered. :)

Do you get the 5,000 points on an unlimited number of bookings, I wonder? And is it per flight, or per round-trip booking?

I have a trans Tasman booked for August. If I cancel and rebook using the voucher will I get the DSCs or do I need to book a fresh flight and save the voucher for something else?

I doubt it as the PNR would need to be generated during the DSC period.
Are Qantas Flight Credits eligible for this offer?
Once you've regsitered for this promotion, Flight Credits redeemed for an eligible flight booking during the promotion period will earn bonus Qantas Points and double Status Credits. You can redeem your Flight Credit through Manage booking, by entering the credit reference number and your last name.

I would like to get to NZ one day, but with trips to the UK likely to be expensive when I'm able to go, I think I will pass for now.

Experience with the domestic DSC promo that I've seen posted in that thread would suggest if relying on this you'll need to contact QF and argue your case.

If you want things to credit reliably the best thing you can do is to do a brand new booking with a new PNR.

Save voucher for another flight - if cancelling and rebooking to get DSC.

Vouchers can be used, but must be new vouchers purchased during the promotional period (10-15 MAY) and used during same.

Are Qantas Flight vouchers eligible for this offer?
Flight Vouchers purchased and redeemed for an eligible flight booking made during the promotion will earn bonus Qantas Points and double Status Credits.
Flight Vouchers purchased but not redeemed for an eligible flight booking (for flights that are not booked or travelled within the booking or travel period dates), will not earn bonus Qantas Points or double Status Credits.

Do Double SCs count towards the rollover SC promotion?

However as I noted above, automatic crediting of DSC for those using Flight Credits appears unlikely to work, so you'd need to be prepared to wait the 6 weeks after flying and to call up/email and put your case potentially multiple times. So if you want it to credit automatically, a new booking with a new PNR is best.

Do Double SCs count towards the rollover SC promotion?
I think so, but note that the e.g. 600 SC handed out to every WP due to the pandemic to help keep status, does not count towards the rollover. So you could be sitting on 610 SCs (due to taking only one short domestic flight) as a WP and only have 10SC that will rollover.

I'm still confused about how the bonus 5,000 points works.

The Qantas website says "Simply make a new booking on any eligible flight and you'll be rewarded with 5,000 bonus Qantas Points when you book and double Status Credits when you fly*."

And the T&Cs say:
*Qantas Frequent Flyer members who reside in Australia or New Zealand (with an Australian or New Zealand address in their Frequent Flyer Profile), register and make an Eligible Flight booking between 12.01am (AEST) 10 May 2021 and 11.59pm (AEST) 15 May 2021 for travel between 17 May 2021 and 28 February 2022 are eligible to earn 5,000 bonus Qantas Points and double Status Credits.

The T&Cs and FAQs don't make any further references to 5,000 points. Do you get 5,000 bonus points for an unlimited number of one-way flights?

You're probably missing it at the bottom:

"Bonus Qantas Points and double Status Credits may be earned on multiple eligible flight bookings made during the promotion period."

An eligible flight booking is defined as one made between 10-15 May, on a QF operated flight with a QF number between Australia and New Zealand.

Worth noting there is no need to make one-way bookings:

"Only one bonus Qantas Points and Status Credits offer can be used per individual qualifying segment of your itinerary."

So it seems like each sector is elgible. It even says the following in the FAQ:

"How many bookings can I make?
There is no limit to the number of eligible flight bookings that can be made during the promotional period."
