Hi,
Currently I am gold and have been since March. It looks like I will be close to achieving platinum if I get another 16 status credits by the middle of next month. After which my existing credits start to expire rather rapidly. My question is that if I acquire the status credits in time (probably via a status run) do I get Platinum for a full year from that date or just until my review date (Mar 20)? Thanks.

From the date you achieve it. And your review date changes to that date
Thank you. Would I be correct to assume a soft landing to Gold should I miss the credit threshold next year? That would be an added incentive to do this mileage/status run right now.

I believe that would be the case. If you don't retain Plat you will drop to Gold

Also they may bump you to Plat before you hit the 1000 mark. Happened to my wife this year at about 980 IIRC.

That's correct. Failure to maintain Plat will drop you to Gold for a year. Failure to then retain Gold will drop you to Silver for a year etc.
There's a big difference between Gold and Silver tiers in terms of benefits, so worth striving for at least Gold....Good luck!

2 questions
1) if you are platinum and only get say 300 SCs in the following year do you drop to silver
2) if you drop from plat to gold do you have to re qualify to plat with the 500 SCs

no gold

no you need 1000 to get back to plat or 400 to keep gold

No, if you only earn 300 SC in your review year, you'll be 'soft-landed' to Gold.

For upgrading, SCs are calculated every day for the previous 365 days. If in that period you have earned 1,000 SCs, you go straight back up to Plat. Its called the 'rolling window' method.
As Plat maintain is 'only' 800 SCs in the review year, its easier to maintain than to upgrade again.
