Last nights dinner was $110. I bought a loaf of pumpkin seed sour dough at Sandholt that was $10 but it will last a couple of days. Breakfast yesterday was $45 and we didn't get coffee. Sydney prices but three meals per day for a week plus is pricey and we don't drink booze. A glass of beer is about $15.


We spent about $100 at Bonus and also got cereals, milk, ham, cheese, fruit, veggies, burgers, nuts so we can have some meals here.

Not over the top prices in comparison to some places but if eating out all the time it would add up. That’s the beauty of self catering.

Ok, not as bad as I thought it may be, but a B&B is the way to go, having the ability to eat in most of the time would be good. The prices you are quoting are for two?

Silfra snorkelling and diving is by permit only and by memory, snorkel tours are $200 and diving is $500. Max four divers per guide but we paid for private guide to avoid the crowd.

Earlier than usual pick up at 6.45 with Stefano the hot Italian scuba guide at Dive. Is and thankfully it's a perfect day to go diving. Seriously it does not get better than this, even the guides are cheering the fantastic weather

Are you diving as well?
We drove there (as part of a day trip with Silversea back in 2010) so just looked at the area from the road. After reading Rooflyer's comment in Chit Chat, it might have been Thingvellir though. Wherever, it was pretty exciting to see though. Must be amazing to actually dive it.

Loving this TR, have been to Iceland once - when I did not have a Melbourne Mortgage. Now, I cannot consider going back - the prices I paid for things even back then were eye-watering. I'd like to retire one day.

No diving for me but hubby did two dives and his hands were so numb he couldn't do his jeans



And just like that the clouds come over and the landscape changes

The on the way home, after looking at a few shops, hubby sees a poster for IceWear.

My Icewear wool gloves I bought there 11 years are still going strong.

66 North is also another good brand you can find there.

It was a fantastic day, really the reason why we came here so the perfect weather made it better and a tick off the bucket list

Tomorrow we go south for a couple of days.

We were suppose to go city wandering this afternoon but a hot shower and Nanna nap beat us again but he got the Tshirt to prove it
