I can truly say that I have gained way more from AFF than I have ever given.
This is a true community and over the years I have made friendships that would not have been possible without it.
Here’s to the next 20 years :)

Hopefully a fair number of the posters in the thread will still be flying in another 20 years.
As for me, would any sane insurance company sell a 90+ year old insurance? But with luck I will still smile at the grammar police posting on AFF.

Just happily wandering
Fred

mmm I wonder what my key ring would be worth on ebay (that was a joke Joyce) ;)
I am going to go out on a limb here and guess that Alan Joyce won't be getting one of the 5 up for grabs!

(shame I am not someone who would be considered either a long time or prolific poster given my location, or I would put my hat in the ring against him ;))

Glad to hear it was a successful event - as an IT techie I am loving the old school screenshots from the early days

Admin, any chance you can have another batch of the souvenirs made? I'd be more than happy to buy one.
It is possible, but will need to have the numbers to justify the cost. Lets see what the response is to the giveway. So, if you are interested please enter the giveaway competition and I'll then be able to judge the level of interest.

Huge congrats from me as well. And a good opportunity to say thanks to all who have built and maintained the AFF family over 20 years.

Absolutely fabulous @Admin congratulations

I may have been only here for a few years but congrats. It’s strange to think that I’m only just a few months older than AFF itself! I’ve learnt a lot from this forum in my short time and I am looking forward to the next 20 years, of which I’ll be able to take part in!

Congratulations to AFF on 20 years. I may not be a huge poster but in the 13 years and 46 weeks I have been a member I have gained a huge amount of knowledge and assistance, particularly in booking overseas flights. We didn't start travelling overseas until retirement so needed all the help we could get.

I would also like to say thanks and congratulations to AFF and all the team who have kept it running for the 20 years and the many wonderful members. I started a new career role in 2009 that required regular domestic travel but i had no idea how to get the most benefit out of it so went searching for advice and came across this forum. Shortly after joining here and putting into practice much of the things i learnt i achieved WP with both QFF and Velocity. I have also just flown SQ suites class to Europe for the first time, something i would never have achieved without the wonderful advice freely given here.

20 years is an amazing achievement. I put it into perspective by comparing with the age of my kids - oft referred as mini-NMs in the past, but not so mini any more. It has certainly been both a pleasure and an honour to be a member of AFF for so long, and even greater honour to be able to assist with moderation (in moderation of course) duties. I have met some amazing people and learned and applied immeasurable benefits for my family travels.

While catching up with a very well known AFF couple in a hotel lounge in Melbourne, I found that we had a long-term family friend in common, whom we both knew as "Auntie Val". Its a small world.

And another friend I have known for over 20 years called one day saying he saw my photo posted on AFF. Never knew he was also an AFF member. G'day Steve ... plan on 35 x QLXD for Carols this year.

But the most important thing is to know that I still have the NM Bus ... and I yes, I did mention the bus, but I think I got away with it ;)

Noob here, but someone very grateful for the advice and support I have been given from people here.

Congratulations on 20 years. I know the forum hasn’t been around that long, but in the days when forums are diminishing in the face of various social media outlets, you should be proud that this forum has remained vibrant, relevant and interesting. Keep up the good work.

Flying has become an important part of my life again, so I hope to take a more active part in AFF.

I donated the value of my most recent airfare to a veterans health charity. But that's because of Virgin, not this prize.

Thank you to all those who entered the giveaway. Interest wasn’t as strong as I was expecting. Maybe the selection criteria was too vague?

Anyway we have our winners: calmelb, coyote25, and swanning_it. Congratulations to you all.

As I had 5 to give away, I’m giving one to Danger (for expressing an interest) and one also to wandering_fred (at 90+ this is well deserved)

Till the next major celebration!!

Well remember 90+ was in reference to flying in 20 years time :)
With luck trying to keep moving around (internationally) for another 5+

After that no wandering ?
Fred

Thanks Admin. That is very much appreciated. AFF is such a great, informative and friendly forum, I'm certainly proud to be a recipient!
