Trying to follow this, as to what benefit your getting? You bought a $200 Only1 gift card at Officeworks Fremantle for $207.95? How did you pay and what wer the benefits in buying the card?

I bought half a dozen using my Amex card, and then paid my quarterly tax bill with them. If you have a more productive method, I would appreciate you letting me know.

There are plenty of methods mentioned in this thread. The basics, repeating earlier posts are to buy the Only1’s with discounted wish cards bought via CashRewards or EntertainmentBook using Amex Platinum Edge for 3ppd etc....for most the cost of the $100 Only1 comes out at $100.65, eg a 65c premium.

In your case your paying a premium of nearly $4 for every $100 spent. Unless your getting an unexplained benefit, your better off paying the ATO bill direct with your Amex and copping the $1.45 Amex fee per $100, but likely still getting half a point per $? Even cheaper if you use Visa/MC etc. In essence unless your getting the Only1s cheap AND getting 3ppd it’s not worth buying them.... IMO.

Thanks for that, will make that the plan for next quarter..

Thanks Coops1 and Mr Orange. I feel too impatient to deal with all those $100 Visa1 minus the cc fees.

Don’t disagree with you, it’s a PITA (buying and using) for larger payments,.....would be much quicker, and cheaper fee wise, if they had $200 ones at WOW.

The $200 cards are not only better value since the fee is less than double the $100 cards, they only seem to be stocked at certain shops that don't include the supermarkets.

Anyone else getting this message trying to buy WISH cards?

All good for me earlier today. WISH card arrived after 6 hrs.
Thanks.

Worked out why it was rejected. AMEX had put a hold on my credit card because it was $52 in credit!

Just got off the phone with them and they failed to accept that my account was frequently in credit. They said that this wasn't possible or allowed. Told them they were dreaming!

Have just transferred all of the points out of my AMEX account and intend to cancel next week.

I am getting the same problem as Dr Ralph has. basically, now it errored out when I try to do buy e-Gift Cards. I wonder if its because my account has been charged 2 x its actual limit credit limit. Amex rep on chat said my card is good to go, but my balance is now 600 in credit. Amex said it could be a merchant issue. It possibly is, as I can see the charge appear on Amex, but no email notification for the gift cards. There maybe a system problem.

So I wonder, has woolworths e-gift card division gone wonky with their amex or has they suddenly have problem accepting amex edge cards?

Or is it because my balance is in credit so i can't get gift cards.. which means I should just spend it up before going back to buy gift cards..

My problem was all AMEX.

I just tried my CBA issued amex - same problem. payment cannot be processed. Then I tried my ANZ frequent flyer black Visa card - It didn't work either.

Something is wrong with woolworths e-gift cards payment system.
