Bali Belly or Volcanoes?

They cater well for kids but thankfully there are few. And the place is rather deserted I’m presuming a mix of volcano scare and low season. I reckon had we not prepaid we might have changed too.
Breakfast includes a kids corner. Pretty sure it’s far from healthy.

Boarding Pass scanned and enjoying the trip report as planning one at the Ritz Carlton at the end of November but thinking twice regarding volcano

I'm glad everything worked out and you got to take the trip. Enjoy. Looks great so far.

Thanks for posting about customs and all that as well, we are off to SIN next Saturday and then to Bali from there on the Monday for 8 nights.

Looking forward to seeing more of your photos. That Ritz luxury escapes package seems like one of their better offers!

The volcano has been downgraded now and even Insurance companies are covering it again. But it’s Mother Nature.

If you are planning on seclusion it’s a wonderful place. While taxis are cheap if you want to get out and about then it’s a little far away and Bali traffic can be bothersome. The staff are fabulous though and I guess with low numbers they’ve had a bit of rest. It is quite deserted.

Yes. Luxury Escapes is good. We had the first included dinner and they must have sold a lot as they have their own printed menu. The choices were fine. The included coughtails were rather naff though and we were glad we’d had a strong G&T with our duty free gin.

Also the package doesn’t include the Club in the usual sense but a luxury lounge. A little misleading. If it was full of kids we might look at upgrading but there’s no need to do it as the pools and breakfast area were not busy at all. We don’t need to book restaurants here. Bliss.

At 7.14 right now Mr P informs me it’s seriously warm on the balcony. We face east.

Haven't been to Nusa Dua for about 20 years. looking forward to the TR

Kids in a luxury club? Words that should never be mentioned together!

I sometimes (ok, always) struggle with the really high humidity (so why do I keep going to Asia for short holidays?), I think I'll be glad we picked a hotel where our room has its own plunge pool (in Jimbaran). We then go to a Villa with our friends and their kids (our God Children) in Canggu.

Lunch yesterday was nice but rather larger than we’d planned. Cost around $60 with soft drink. And taxes. And tips. Gulp. Only once but MrP needed to eat as he’d had a heavy gym session.

We tried walking along the beach but that was real hard work as you sank about 6 inches with each step. Got the heart rate up but don’t like this sensation when it’s really hot as well.

Didn’t do much other than read and take photos as we are getting used to the heat. There are apparently monkeys in the garden so plan on finding them tomorrow. MrP hates ‘em after going to monkey forest a few years ago.

Rather nondescript free coughtails last night. Most of the ‘free ones’ are made with arak which we avoid and just a couple with vodka. No gin in sight.

Appertisers. Prawn stuffed chicken wings for him and some croquette thingys for me. That tasted of - fried breadcrumb and texture of mashed potato. Flavors were meant to be mushroom, one chicken and one cheese. Mmm. Not.

Realised I didn’t take photos of mains. Sirs was Nasi Goreng and mine was supposed to be crumbed barramundi and chips. Mine was rather nice flaky cooked grilled barramundi and something green. I think it was salad.

We didn’t have the free desert! We’d had enough. No lunch tomorrow.

We both think of Lost tv when we pass by this wall.

Light breakfast this morning. Fruit and pancakes although MrP also indulged in sushi. For breakfast?

Monkey. In heavy foliage and photo not well lit and at full zoom. Processed it in BW. I thought I was about to take a photo of kittens for the cat thread and then looked up to see Momma. Oops. Baby Monkeys.

Thanks @Pushka. Definitely looking for somewhere to just relax and just spend time lazying around ... Quick weekend getaway.

Your trip report is tempting us to lock in the trip!

These suites are across the other side of the resort. The gardens are in the middle. They have their own infinity pools with clear sides.

I’ve been slack but taking lots of photos of stuff.
Today we’ve hired a local driver to take us to UBUD in the mountains. We were there maybe 15 years ago. Driver with car costs 600,000 IDR - all of $60. Plan on taking lots of photos of waterfalls.

My most unusual photo so far -
