No, not tried it. I am a PN fan, but far from an authority ;)

I like to support Tassie winery's when it comes to PN, not to say there is anything wrong with the 100's of others.

I must say that I am impressed with every Escarpment (NZ) PN I have tried, and sent a little money their way of late.....

I have only ever read good things about Oakridge, so I would be surprised if it was not something I would like.

2015 Oakridge Willowlake Pinot confirmed as an absolute ripper also :) A smoky, meaty, herby, cranberry delight!

Took qaz's advise on this one and also enjoyed.

At the floral end of the spectrum, lifted and fragrant. Pale red brick in the glass with a pale hue. Red cherry, pomegranate with a hint of leaf litter on the nose. The palate was light and elegant with layered tannins. Impressions of wild raspberries and stewed rhubarb. Looking forward to seeing how this one develops.

At the recent Vivino Offline Christmas Party the theme was Chardonnay or Pinot Noir. Consequently, I got to try some great Pinots from Australia, New Zealand and France. They were all medium to top end propositions, but the standouts were:

the Dry River Martinborough Pinot Noir 2008, and

the By Farr Sangreal Pinot Noir 2009.

Both top end wines, but, boy, were they worth their price tags. Highly recommended to my fellow Pinot loving friends.

Don't normally post in this section of the forum as I'm more of a pinotphobe than a pinotphile (just not really my style) but reached for my trusty bottle of Maverick Cabernet blend the other night in our darkened pantry and twisted the cap off a bottle of this in mistaken identity:

It's the Moorilla estate St Matthias Vineyard Pinot and almost a rosé in colour, fragrant nose, wafts of Kentish cherries and the like, on the palate more cherries but certainly not dark or dense, a little bit of astringency and what my 21yo described as slightly medicinal notes, not bad, could stand a short chill but not really my cup of tea. Best Pinot I've ever had was another Tassie drop, the Holymans https://www.gasworkscellardoor.com.au/pinot-noir/16471-holyman-pinot-noir-2014.html which was absolutely stunning even for on old died-in-the-wool shiraz drinker like myself....cheers, W&D

So glad you inquired of this crowd.
I was introduced to BH thru Winestate in Virgin's Melbourne domestic terminal as we were flying to Sydney. The Byron and Harold(BH) Rose and Thorns 2014 Pinot was part of a mixed dozen at a fair price. I liked the wine although it was not a stunner. So I did a little more work chatting to both the owners and Luke the winemaker and 2 dozen BH were sent.

I remember them saying to me, "Have you tried a partners Pinot? which is their top of the range, but the price point is too high for me. What I have since tried from them, and I bought a case of the second tier 2015 Rose and Thorns Pinot. What a difference.
I had three different ones in October and the tasting results went like this.
Squitchy lane pinot 2012 - a tad thin, nice fresh acidity, needs a good airing.
Yarra valley Top paddock pinot 2015 - great as usual, lovely fruit.
Byron and Harold Rose and Thorns pinot 2015 - so easy to drink, best of the 3. Lacks a bit of complexity but otherwise faultless.

I went and had a 6 hour lunch a few Fridays ago with a mate. Dropped two BH's with Vietnamese in Victoria St.
BH Rose and Thorns Chardonnay 2014 - beautiful.
BH Riesling 2015 - even better. In fact, a stunner from me. just so damn good with every sip.

So this company has a nice pedigree and 2015 is a standout for them. I haven't seen what sort of a rating WA had in 2015, but it doesn't really matter.

Back to your BH Partners 2015 Pinot. Just buy some, it's that obvious. Your price is supurb as well.

While I am here, and I know it's perfectly a place for pinot, I did have 2 botts of their rose and Thorns cab 2014 thru September 2016. I gave it a very good wine as well. Not stupendous, but a wine to watch for 3 years.

Small world qaz................................but I wouldn't want to paint it.

unfortunately besides still probably not having much cellar space left, especially after stocking up on Punt Road cheaply, it seems to be permanently sold out now :(
