I don't know anyone other than 7Eleven for GoCard top ups with Amex.

I called Wesley pharmac_ yesterday. Generic Pantoprazole, Diaformin and Amoxycillin all quoted at $17 each. I went and bought the 3 of them in a pharmac_ in Queen Street for a total of $18, bought an extra Pantoprazole and got back $10 from Amex.

How much money do people throw away on overpriced medicines?

Here is a list from Ozbargain.

That's been my dilemma with the pharmac_ option this time. I usually go to Priceline which is understandably not in Shop Small. For some small pharmacies, the $10 rebate brings them into line with 'market' price so thinking it's a waste of the credit. Did buy a fancy electronic thermometer at one pharmac_ though - nice to get it for half price.

Interested in the thoughts and experiences of others in relation to the pharmac_ pricing issue.

I found my local Priceline same or cheaper than some other local chemists for all the medicines even after cashback applied. The main pharmicist knows me pretty well too which makes it all easier.

I think the best use of the pharmacies in shop small is if you have multiple prescriptions (3 or 4) which bring you to or close to $20. For most people this would be hard.

Did one for my dad but only saved maybe a couple of bucks because they charged ~$12 for cerumol ($8 at chemist warehouse) and some prescription meds to about $20.

Generally I only get medical stuff from Chemist Warehouse due to price but annoying they don't take AMEX.

Did this across 3 cards for total $63. Still cheaper at Priceline.

....+1 is not working tomorrow and the day after, and i intend to send her all over Sydney to do the balance :D
+1 is running all over Sydney as we speak with our 6 cards, trying to do Opal card topups....my email inbox has been buzzing all morning

Luckily for me, I can purchase many items on the PBS/other government mandated prices. But other than that, Cincotta Discount Chemist and Discount Drug Stores have multiple locations that are on shop small (Sydney), and have similar pricing to Chemist Warehouse and cheaper than Priceline on many things.

Just did my last small shop purchase.

120 in total. Was a rather involved logistical exercise.

Most businesses had no trouble splitting the bill over multiple cards. The best I did for this was 10 cards at a bottle shop purchasing some craft beers.

Encountered some nasty business owners though. Including one that wanted to charge me 17% surcharge to split a restaurant bill over multiple cards and another that wanted a $7 fee for topping up $20 on my Opal card. The result is that I'll never visit those businesses again.

Just waiting on the last of my credits to post and then all of my AMEX cards will be cancelled. There's just too many other sign up bonuses to go for. Hopefully AMEX don't enforced their 18 month exclusion period as I'd love November 2017 to be just like November 2016.

Just waiting for +1 to do last Opal topup....so 6 cards done ×10....not bad given we were away 1/ 2 of Nov...I personally don't have the patience to do the Opal topups!

I assume you didn't pay the surcharges? And, as a lawyer, I'm sure you were able to rattle off some convincing sounding spiel about why they shouldn't.

Couple more last minute credits in the bag. No more eating out till Christmas now :D

Make sure you report those businesses to AMEX.

I managed a 54 from a possible 70 transactions, without having to put too much work into it. Only had one shop that wouldn't split the bill across cards. Pretty happy all up - thanks AMEX!

Managed about 40 transactions possible out of 140, need to lift up my game next year

143 out of 150 and a stack of duplicated transactions. Need to lift my game in tracking where the cards were used.
